Thats doable especially since I can just drive down and pick them up!

Is there still interest in getting together for a New Glarus Brewery tour. We could make a whole weekend of it. If there is enough people interested I can put it together.

Tom is on vacation but his buddy is running things and just hooked my up with a steering rack so I say call Monday!...see what they can do for ya!

As for Brewery tour...where is the place located?

Id say probably sometime this fall would work best.

I agree with sometime this fall. Mopar and I were talking about it the other day and were thinking we could do this possibly sometime in early to late October.

Here is where the brewery is located.
(I fail at linking maps! Address: 2400 State Hwy 69, New Glarus, WI)
http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?hl=en...77,0.0421&z=15

Here is their website.

If it can be set up for after our State Fair, then I'm down...I will be extremely busy until after the fair is over with both jobs. I'm working 60-65 hours a week right now and I will be doing more during the fair.

I really want to go to the New Glarus Brewery, it would be my first tour, but it would be a lot of fun.

Also, if we have to go that far, we might as well go to Road America since we'd already be like halfway there. It's been almost 10 years since I went there...must go again.

We could arrange that sine there is an F-body race day the weekend of the 23rd & 24th. They will allow anyone to race in their group so it is a good possiblilty. Even if you don't want to race it is well worth it to check out the track since you can drive around pretty much where ever you want around the track. RA is a very cool place.

well all you need is the stage 1 rotated mount OR only the spacer for the rear mount.

(Steering rack removal...)

How do I get these to separate? ...Rack is disconnected from car and knuckles. Only thing left holding me up is the steering shaft being held into the U joint (hope I'm using the right names)

my book doesn't say...I figured it just slide right out.

Trust me, I read the book before I started. If I hadn't Id be in worse shape already...as in the steering spring would have unwound and Id be fucked.

LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE REMOVING THAT!!!!!

Do not let the steering wheel turn when you remove that.. clock spring WILL get fucked up.. may cause airbags to deploy!

But besides that.. take a pry bar/ long screw driver/chisel and tap it off with a hammer.. not terribly hard it just corrodes on

Good! lol

Yah I usually take a small pry bar from the bottom and pound the pry bar with a hammer going straight up. It'll pound off pretty easily. The joint flexes and compresses so your not going to hurt anything.
Since your replacing the rack, no its not hard to put back on.. It has a spot where the bolt slides in and can only go one way. The rust on there makes it hard to get off, but since the new rack is rust free, it'll slide right on.

IF you want pictures, take a look at the GM build book in the clutch replacement section, gotta remove that to get the trans out.

The rack came with new inner and outter tie rods....You think they are pretty close to where they should be as for alignment.

Its a GM part, they look as if they are in the same location as ones on the car.
