Thing is ******* $40 for a name brand one from Gamestop or Best Buy, but only $17 shipped 2nd day on Amazon...thank you Amazon...especially since I don't need another HDMI cable...I got 4 for less than $30 shipped from Woot a while back.

Well I ordered it through Clear Image and haven't received anything back from them yet (I didn't pay for it), but then I emailed Vince..he told me to submit it with payment info through Trifecta's website which I did. He said they should get back to me tomorrow. He said it's probably better to just use the cable with a laptop because the datalogging is more accurate...seems strange, but I said sure...now tomorrow after work I have an excuse to go buy a netbook...

I will still be doing the Serenity Prayer down the road as well, but I need to get down to 200lbs before that happens...still have 23-25 lbs to lose. Joining a gym this fall/winter.

well i started my car today and out of nowhere it had a check engine light and knocking. i'm taking it to chevy after work (in an hour) and seein what they have to say about it. if the engine is goin i'm gonna look into the mn lemon law and part with the car... enough is enough...

they said they'd try to have a demo end of the year or spring 2011. Game should be done in 2011 sometime.

Parnell....the $40 is if I buy it retail from Best Buy or Gamestop...I ordered that one on Amazon and payed for 2nd day shipping...will have it Thurs.

I'm at the store and I'm wondering....I ordered my Trifecta tune and decided to get the cable...I was going to buy the netbook to use with it, but I'm wondering, what kind of connection does the cable use to hook to a laptop? Will I be able to use a netbook with the data cable from Trifecta? Need an answer ASAP.

you cant tune yourself with trifecta. You have to order the tune from Vince, email him data logs, he sends you stuff and you can flash it on. So idk hard to say how much you want to drop on it when you cant do anything yourself....except having the cable is nice so you dont have to borrow his.

 

Sorry, my post is misleading...I ordered the tune from Trifecta...they're mailing me a loaner cable. Vince is working on my tune and will email me the files I need. So $470 total ($200 is deposit for the cable).

I'm not doing any tuning myself, but I need the laptop to upload the tune to the car and to do the datalogging...Vince himself said it would be better and easier to use a laptop if that's an option for me as the datalogging will be more complete. Meaning fewer times I have to have him tweak it (hopefully).

Anyway, I picked up a Samsung N150-11 and a case for it $380...it will come in handy for a lot more than just tuning, I just used the tuning as my excuse to finally go out and buy a netbook for myself. Could've probably gotten it cheaper online somewhere, but I need it as soon as possible. The cable is on it's way (my luck it will take a week or better to get here anyway)...lol.

 

hmm..refurb netbooks with warranty through manf are like 200 or less :/

 

The cable will probably be serial, which your netbook won't have. You can get a USB to Serial converter for $30 or so.

 

It will look like this. He will also send you the drivers in a email that you will need to install first.

 

So it does use a USB cable...that's cool...worst case scenario, I scam BB...buy a serial to USB and return it when done....lol.


Parnell, I could have gotten a netbook for $220 from Best Buy that was refurb, but I've had such bad luck with HP laptop's in the past. I don't care for Asus and Acer so those are out of the question...the only ones I was interested in and liked the look/feel of were over $300...still could have gotten a better deal online and should have done that, but I'm impatient.


Bowled shitty again....last week (first week of the league I had a 177, 194, and 140...I quit drinking before the 3rd game..that's my excuse...plus I hadn't bowled in a whole year and hadn't done a league in 3).

So I started the season with a 170 average (511 series) and this week I bowled a 505 series....145, 177, 183. I don't know what my deal is...I need to get some practice in and get back in the groove. My last league I only averaged a 175, but that was a new place to me (Brunswick XL in Blaine)...I'm at my old house where I bowled all 8 years of juniors...Blainbrook...I love these lanes, but I need to get my consistency back. I also made a mistake when I started the last league...decided to switch from 15lb to 16lb *****....I think it's time to go back to 15's as I'm comfortable with that...I can control it a lot better because with 16's I can't control my speed to adjust that way...I can only try to adjust by where I stand and aim. I think I'm going to be spending A LOT of money this season...need 3 ***** (might just have my spare ball plugged and re-drilled for the 3rd time because that's 15lbs still), but my Black Widow Pearl and Tropical Storm need to be replaced.

almost 90% of the netbooks out today use the same hardware. I actually need to buy a netbook as well for when my hpt arrives....

 

What happened to that HPT and netbook combo deal you found, Parnell? See for me though, I didn't like the way the touchpad and keyboard were on some of the netbooks...that's the thing for me, fit and finish...I was willing to pay extra for this one because the quality of the case and everything else seem a little nicer and more durable as well as having a nice touchpad.

Hoffa, hell yeah! Just set something up and I will figure out how to be there....just has to be something other than Tuesday night.

I got an email saying my cable was shipped...I will have the email with the stuff I need before the cable arrives...yay, and I asked and they confirmed that it does in fact use a USB cable...so I'm golden.

Can't wait...I only wish I had a SC on the car that I was tuning for...Hoffa...hook me up...lol.
