Minnesota chat 2010 ( . )( . )
Service departments = evil. Crooked bastards. All of them (no matter how nice they are).

And one more of her.
So anyway, I'm going to head outside now...enjoy the day working on my Pedders, FE5 struts/shocks, steering rack spacers, painting my front bowtie again (going to paint the chrome part black and the yellow bowtie will be body color USM this time instead of the whole thing being black). I picked up a 12 pack Spring Sampler of Summit and will enjoy the day. If for some reason I only get some of the suspension done, then I will finish it tomorrow...going to start with the back to make sure I can get the back stuff done since I heard one person say that he had a hell of time with his Pedders and the bump stops fitting together...he had to heat them up (the bump stops) to make them fit properly.
I may even decide to go out and give my taillights a few coats of Nite-Shades....still debating on this. I am not sure if I want to just Nite-Shade them or have a guy do them for me professionally. He'd charge me somewhere in the $100-150 range. I still want some black headlights as well.

lol. If you say so. I just hate dealerships, especially service departments because I know all of their little dirty tricks and shortcuts they take to deny paying customers warranty jobs from working in that industry for 5 years. I will ALWAYS pay the extra just so my car is covered should anything go wrong.

I say install them yourself, hell if you wait I can help, then drive to the dealer and flash it. I read the warranty book...yes all of it and the fine print. I know my rights and I'll just work my way up the ladder until I get my answer or car fixed. dealers are dumb but GM and blogs can force it to be fixed.
It's not a bad price considering the quality of his work. I've seen many examples up close and he guarantees his work.
Which should I start with?

It's like only 80 for all the rear taillights. They normally have it done within same day if you drop them off in the early morning.
Sorry. On my phone and didn't get your post. Lol, I was trying yo get it quick enough to do a merged double post but didn't work out.

Really? LOL, actually wonder what that would taste like.
I wanna pick this up: http://www.mnsportcompacts.net/forum...75-Fs-2004-wrx
Too bad I don't have money for both cars plus insurance or space for both. I don't want to sell my car either so oh well.

On all this whole thing about dealerships. I would suggest merit Chevrolet in maplewood. They even said they would put on a smaller aftermarket pulley for me when none other would. The service manager was like I dont care its your own car. I thought that was awesome. They are also open Mon-thurs until 130am! Crazy.
Well the flash HAS to be done at a dealer, so how can they void your warranty or know anything if you have stage 1. If you take it to a diff dealer than install the new dealer has no idea wtf you paid for, only that you have a stage 1 on if they scan the car.

One thing that you have to remember is that every company tries everything in their power to save money, no matter how small the amount. For a service department (take Devin's situation for instance), a shop needs to get warranty approval from GM. What Friendly had to do was submit a report to GM about what happened with his car as to why GM should have to cover it under warranty. If they can find ANYTHING (no matter how small it is), they will fight tooth and nail to deny coverage.
Take my brakes (and everyone else's **** brakes on their TC) for instance. Straight out of the service guys mouth: "I've definately never seen rear brakes go out this fast on a car before, especially way before the front pads, but because we can't find the cause, GM won't let us cover it for you."
Bullshit I say. If it is something they know is wrong, it should get fixed. That is what a warranty is for. It is not my problem that their idiot engineers didn't design something correctly or put shitty pads on our cars.
I could go on and on about it, but working in that industry, I saw A TON of customers get fucked over and it was sad to see. Dealerships really do anything and everything to save money, ESPECIALLY when it is a warranty claim. Over time, it only seems to have gotten worse.
As far as flashing our cars for the Stage Kit, maybe it is ok to just do it like you did. In my experience however, I'm not taking a chance. Not worth it IMO.
While I agree with everything you just said, that isn't the way those crooks look at it.
TJ, in case you missed it, make sure to grease the slide pin bushings on the rear calipers. Some guy on here said that binding could be caused by the lack of grease which would make the inboard pads wear faster.
Because honestly, if they somehow found out that you had a tech on the side flash the tune without it going through their system up front with one of the service department guys (something seriously as simple as that), those asshats can deny coverage just in an attempt to save some coin on their bottom line.

The rear brake issue - Like I said from the start when that tool made the thread about getting a recall. It wont happen, ever. Some douchers on the ms3 forum tried to get some recall done too on some stupid ass part. Brakes are a wear item, that **** wont be covered UNLESS your dealer tech is good at wording and wants to warranty it. I would never expect my clutch or brakes to be warrantied, I'd try yes but wear items are a *****.
You better believe I greased the **** out of them when I put them back in.
I under stand your point, but if they cant prove it, I'd just go to the next person on the list.

Basically, they admitted that something was wrong but because they are too ******* stupid to understand that there is binding because the caliper pins weren't greased from the factory, they wouldn't cover it. I already filed a complaint with GM's service whatever the hell they are called on their website and they had me email them a story and take pictures of my brake pads and rotors in an attempt to get refunded for what the cost for new pads and rotors would be.
The lady that I spoke to was very understanding and said that I should be getting some money back but it could take up to 8-12 weeks to be filed.
Just because it's a wear item, doesn't mean it shouldn't be covered. They have mileage standards for everything as to what they will cover things up to, brakes included. No one will ever tell you that though. Another way to take money from customers.
