spring help in the twin cities

Has anyone out there installed springs on their SS? I tried to do mine last night with my buddy but we didn't have the tools, lighting, or the know how to do it correctly. In fact, we couldn't get the damn bolt that connects the tie rod to the strut link tightened down all the way. I had to take the car to my dealership and trick them into thinking the thing came loose itself and should be covered under warranty (it worked). I'm getting wheels this friday and was hoping to get these installed sooner than later.

i know Hoffa and a buddy did his springs, but you'd have to ask him how well it went - from what I remember him telling me, get the correct spring compressors...

Right Hoffa??

we had compressors, we were running into problems with getting the strut apart.

Anyone that knows what they're doing want to help out? There'll be frosty beverages of your choice...

(cracks fingers)

ahem...

i can definately help you out... i did my springs with a friend of mine. you will definately need EXTERNAL spring compressors and an impact gun.

i say again... an impact gun and an air compressor.

that is the only way you will get the struck assembly apart (and if i remember correctly... there is a lil star nut thinger on the bolt too, acts almost like a key... don't know if we actually used it though... lol)

and when you put the new springs on n such... make sure you align everything right in the assembly before putting back on the car... should be a dash marks on the strut pieces, align them.
