Is a 2.6 possible?

Ok first things first my mods are in the sig but the main ones would be the OTT h/e, single-pass manifold and stu-mod using an 03 cobra reservoir.

Now with conservative timing and a slightly rich afr do you think it would be worth it to go from the 2.8 to a 2.6. I am hopefully going to be adding meth sometime after the holidays but until then what do you guys think?

in his sig he says that he tunes himself. so if he does that he should be fine. he will have to keep a close eye on his iat2's.

yes I own hptuners and I counted on some sarcasm in there so thats fine but I have not seen anybody run that size pulley with a single-pass manifold. Sure plenty of dual pass, h/e's, and meth but not just a single pass and no meth.

Ok so let me reword the question then. Would the gain in a little bit of hp and a descent amount of tq be worth the risk? I obviously keep an eye on the most crucial things like afr and iat2.

meh. you'll just get more torque. as long as you watch your stuff and know how to tune you'll be fine though.

if you tune then go for it... and if the single pass isnt enough then you need to make your own ice box

With proper tuning, you can run a 2.6 w/ stock header/dp/cooling/etc. Did it for 8 months, no issues and pulled a 13.7@105. That was 3 years ago too.

Atleast second h/e and full exhaust. This is the minimum with a good tuner

Just get 60's and slap it on. Make a solid tune. You will be fine

just a suggestion....

header
meth
2.6

in that order.... also.... a clutch would be a great addition, unless you have one already and just dont have it listed.

I so not have a clutch yet. I was planning on getting a clutch and axles around tax return time. As far as the header goes I have been tossing up the idea of going turbo and would rather put the money toward that.

haha you are having the same thoughts as me.... regarding the header/turbo idea. i just got that GM clutch upgrade kit, i love it so far and seems to hold my power with extreme ease. now of course you are putting more down than me, but it says 300hp rating and you can't beat it for the price. over the winter i'll be finishing up the my suspension & drivetrain, so axles are coming soon for me, most likely just the OTTP stage 1 set.
