so yea i got 3rd gear stuck last night so my car is going nowhere....i dont know if its the shift selector or the 3/4 fork should i buy both? anyone want to help get the neon running again

 

damn dude, I'll ask some of my buddies from the srt crew what they think it is and if they have any parts laying around

 

take off the trans cover ... it looks easy to check.

 

thanks man, ill appreciate it. pretty much everywhere says that its the shift selector that broke since its a common problem..but i just want to make sure before i buy if online and get it here by friday hopefully...

YEA ive read that if the shifter moves freely it can be that a cable popped out. but again i have no way of checking when i cant even lift the car up and check without proper tools. i dont trust the stock jack to go under the car like that..this sucks

 

yea i wouldnt use the stock jack lol


just take it to that shop u always use.

i drove it this morning on third gear all the way to the local shop i usually take it to and it sucked on traffic but the low end torque on it helped me alot taking off in every stop..still sucked though

I have no clue, think something in the valve train let go. cruising at 80 up a hill to pass a truck, car bucked, then no power, boosting like crazy at low rpms and making some horrific noises. I am ******* pissed right now. I actually treated this car nice too. I beat the ever living **** out of the cobalt all day every day and never had a motor problem (cept the one I caused on the built motor lol) but this is ******* bullshit, I have to drive a few people to md in 2 weeks I need a damn car.

 

damm paul that sucks man, but you have warranty on it right? so have the dealer fix it.
