CT changes in how they plow rds

my dad works for the state and works with the guys who plow the roads and he said to me today that they will not be useing sand anymore. the want to save money so the only thing that will be geting used is salt. thats going to be alot of rusty cars if people dont clean them.

Damn man that sucks. Makes me glad when I'm at school, I only drive about 5 miles once a week, and we still use dirt.

They use salt here too. Not to mention they are like gun ho about it. Even the slightest snow = alot of salt. Thats why the cobalt ss/sc is going into storage soon. Need to get a cheap 4x4 blazer or something.

i work for the highway department in RI and not sure were they get there stuff from, but using straight salt is way more expensive than a sand mix. Maybe they are using straight salt for another reason. but anyway it does do a number on the cars time for a winter beater.

Word.

I don't know where in PA you are, but in my area, they not only completely cover the roads with salt, but they dump half the truck in the middle of every intersection!! Then they wonder why they're out of salt by the end of December...

Winter= teh suck

Yea there is no need for salt or sand where i live cause if it snows (rarley and not much) every one ends up piling up all over. Fender bender city, people freak when they see white comming down.

in NH salt is everywhere & with a black car you cant hide from it. but this year my car is being stored, actually put it away this past weekend in my garage since me and my girl go to the same school in MD we will just use her cavy to beat around. but i love winter either way.
