They deffinately didn't do something right if water is getting through and especially with 6 coats of clear. I doubt the heat of the engine would do that to it, hoods don't get that hot.

I think it looks good, always liked bronze wheels with that color red.
Call these guys, did mine for $85 a wheel and it looks amazing. I have taken the wheels off 5 or 6 times adjusting the suspension and still not even a chip of paint where the lugs go.

Right??? It costs the same to powdercoat as I paid for the rims lol....They were 429 before shipping/lugs etc

I doubt it would be more but deffinately call them. Yeah it cost about the same as a new set but they don't come in anything but flat black and gray so you gotta pay to be custom. Hell all I did was get it done all gloss black but I feel it was worth every cent because even if someone spray painted theirs black mine is done right and will hold up so I wont have to redo them every year.
