Yeah, instead of the metal plates that sit on the back of the pad base , there is a very this black rubber-ish pad ( paper thin ) that seats against the caliper area.

That is the same area that would've been lubed.

Hmmmm, well I think I'm going to be ripping everything out to clean out the caliper anyway, so I'll check then.

What are you cleaning the caliper out for??? Not functioning properly??

I know you said you were having issues with the calipers before, and that might have something to do with the noises.

Yeah, I didn't clean it at all the last time. Plus I need to see what's wrong. I know I have at LEAST two, and quite possibly a third that are sticking.

Yeah, sticky calipers = squirrelly stops when you need them the most.

My rears were like that when I put the new pads and rotors on the front....

my brakes are still stock but I wonder about them..... if I use them even lightly above 55 mph they start the whole car shakin a bit. I don't know if this is normal or not? I just kind of assumed it was the fact that they were new but I've been driving for more than three months now and it's still there

Many people call that "warped rotor syndrome".....

While technically you're not warping the rotor, you've now got high and low spots on the rotor. The vibration you feel is the result of the pad running over those spots. If you are feeling it in the wheel... it's the fronts, and the rear rotors ( if you had them ) would be felt in the butt from the seat.

You'll also feel it in the pedal depending on how bad it is.

Consequently, you'll also feel a pulse or throb when you come to a stop at low speeds coming up to a light etc....

If you're car is new and under warranty, take it back to teh dealer and have them resurface the rotors. The problem will come back since the pads are already "trained" and all depends on your driving style as well.

Hope that helps some.

Dan I need ya to do something for me while in Moon. Maybe I will once I get back over.

Remember the one night I got my car back on the road and we were out with BJ and found the black SS with small wing? Well according to Keith he kicked both our asses that day by about 4-5 lengths at that redlight by RMU down University, lol. Wasn't aware we were racing.

Anyway, next time you see him, either actually run him and own him or give him a massive flyby. He only has stage 2.
