I just thought springs were particularly dangerous. Not like a CAI or h/e's gonna come loose and eviscerate you.

Didn't see the post about PRP before I left work.... but yeah... not gonna be much running at PRP tonight.

As for springs... good place is Al's Dad's house. We have the spring compressors, but I refuse to turn them. Took us a while to get mine done.

By the way...

lol...bigger is better.

Well, cool...but yeah, I won't turn em. And I won't let anyone else. Someone gets hurt I'd never feel okay. Rather drop off the car, pay whatever, and pick it up.

Though now I'm wondering. What the hell...why not 2"? lol

It's only a 38mm. I contemplated getting a 44mm.

Yeah... it's almost worth your time to pay to have them put in. Go with Sportlines. They look good.

We'll use Polish welds.

Well if I can ever get my damn Koni's ordered and have time... I'm doing them myself. I'll have help, of course, but I'm not going to have someone else do them.

Hopefully, I can dodge raindrops and get the car loaded for the weekend.

Yeah, I've seen bad stuff happen even to people who knew what they were doing. I will never ever do a "homemade" spring install. I have a guy that does all that kind of stuff - Denny's neighbor.

Yeah, that is my 2nd option, Alicia.... Having Denny's neighbor do it.

We'll see how much he'll charge.

As a side note:

Like I needed anything else to do today.... I'm on the way in to work and I noticed that my driver's side foglight has burned out. It wasn't like that last night....

I guess 66,000 miles of driving with about 70% of the time having them on will do that.

Now I gotta replace that before I leave... H1's right?

LOL my foglight burned out with like 20k on the car. Same side too.

I think they're H11's, not H1's, but don't quote me on that.

Fogs are H11's. My headlights are H1's.

Speaking of... I put my new 10,000K HID bulbs in last night... they look pretty much the same. Kinda disappointed that they're still purple-ish, but they're not bad.

Hmmmm

I posted... yet it's not here...

ANyway.... Thanks for the headsup on the bulb type...

The higher the K the more blue-purple you'll get. I thought you wanted more like what Dan has on the RL... like that silver-blue color... that's a 6000K unit.

I have 10K bulbs in my headlights, and they are very blue, and i've been told told by multiple people that they hate my headlights too

I wanted more blue to show through... after some research I felt my best bet was 10000K. Color temperature is an overall scale of temperature vs. visible light. It doesn't work on a more or less purple scale. 10,000K is blue. Above that will start to show purple. Below that will get whiter.

Yeah, my nerves are all screwed up right now.

I'm hoping to just go out and have fun, and not worry about where I place. It's the only way I'll make it thru in one peice.

Just don't pull a Wes and snap an axle on the launch, that'd be a LOOOOOOOOONG tow home.

Yeah, drag race start + r-comps = axle death. Mine probably SHOULD be replaced, but I don't have the money right now. I need to figure out my brake issues first.

Speaking of, after talking it over with quite a few of my race buddies - each and every caliper is going to have to come apart and get rebuilt with the seals replaced, leaking or not. Sooooooooooo now I gotta go buy some more brake fluid, start tearing apart the calipers one by one and checking for problems. Might replace my SS lines as well. Fun, fun. So looks like my car may be off the road for quite a while, depending on how long it takes me and how ambitious I get with it. Needs to be done before July 21st. Hopefully I won't need ANOTHER set of new pads already.
