400whp? Buy something else that can handle it. These cars are weak. They just look nice

I'm with Tim on this one....these cars are good cars, but NOT made to handle that kinda power and abuse that those #'s would create.

That's my opinion, but I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Alicia.... A while back we were talkign about someone having a drawing of or instructions on how to make a "DIY" Toe adjustment kit.... Do you remember where that came from or if you still have it?? Or maybe if you had it at all??

We're talking about that on RPA.... making one for the car so I can adjust the Toe @ the track and then put it back to stock to drive home.

I'm looking for 400-450hp. I'm getting the Hahn kit when it comes out and some pistons. They'll have a return style fuel system and get rid of the crappy LSJ intake manifold.

Yeah, couldn't handle teh powa. Bet that car would have given mine a damn good run for mah moneyz.

On the power thing, anything can happen with enough wasted money. I have too much time and cash into this to just stop with it now. Besides, only thing I need to worry about now is teh trannz. Motor should have no problems taking 450ish. I bet Al is damn close to 400 bhp if you count the Nawz w/ 75 shot and his blower spinning @ 8K.

I am sure Dan will be damn close to the 400 whp mark once he does his bottom end, lets the motor breath better, and figures out our little fueling issues.

Jim Locke at BeaveRun had it and was telling me how to make it. I don't remember the exact dimensions, but I have a rough idea. Looks like the tie rods are pretty easy to adjust on this car.

BTW I have both sway bar links off the car, however the BWoody ones are the wrong ones. THey're for the FE3 not the FE5. So as soon as I get the right ones in I'll give you my impressions.

Can we draw a symbol that looks like a turbo and call him the Dan formerly known as Turbo?

Technically you have NO cash invested in the car, you have credit invested in the car. Which is going to suck when you're out of school making $700/month student loan payments.

Once you have some vice grips it's a SUPER easy swap. 10 minutes a side I'd say. I had to drive the car briefly with it loose (it's held in with other junk above the subframe). The rattles that I heard are the same ones as "normal" only louder, leading me to believe that these SHOULD eliminate the nasty noises coming from the front suspension. We shall see.

What do you mean?? You had to drive it with WHAT loose?? The old ones or new ones?

Kinda sounds like you meant you had to drive to get grips after you got them half-off....

There's some other companies that I hear are starting to make them, I just can't remember the name. I was thinking about contacting the company that made the ones for the Grand Am Cobalt cars. They are listed on GMPD's site about the cars....

I noticed they used the knuckles or hubs from the G6 on them.

OH, and yes... the Toe is supposed to be very easy on the cars. The Tie Rods are easy to get to and the trick is just getting it down and knowing which way and how many turns gives you "X" and then getting them back... hence the adjustment tool

I'm taking the car in next week ( hopefully ) to get a good alignment and see what kinda camber they can get in there. Just enough to make a difference but not wear the tires too bad. Camber isn't the killer, it's TOE.
