I agree though.... other than Vette/Viper cars, there's alot of BS out there by V8 guys in general.

They cling to the old notion that there's no replacement for displacement.

It's all about the power to weight ratio and also getting that power to the ground.

Everything else is bench racing.

You're right Brain - WE'RE old!

Every other sentence in your post is exactly what's wrong with "car people" any more. Plain and simple.

Given, Hondas with fart-cans and double wings don't help things, but anyone that is into cars should at least do their homework about what other cars they may run into. I love the ones that selectively point to either how much horsepower a car doesn't have or how much it weighs, but aren't smart enough to put the two things together and look at the horsepower to weight ratio (for both their car and the one they are talking **** on), among other things.

No..... I'm just neck deep in work...

And YEs... I saw that on the news last night right before bed... ( 9:45)

Denny... great statement. I LOVE IT!

There are plenty that drive the 4 bangers that re-inforce people's notions about sport-compacts, but there are many others out there that show the truth.

The truth can kill you, or set you free....

Generally I've only heard "fire in the hole" used widely to describe:

a) explosive diarrhea

or

b) a common problem that surfaced mainly in gay clubs or with overly promiscuous college girls....

It was freakin 104 degrees in Viginia today...last minute work trips FTL...

When I walked out of Lockheed's office for lunch and got into my car, I literally started gasping for air due to the heat and humidity. I don't think I've ever felt hotter weather before in my life, not even in florida or japan.

Hey I'm free Friday, Aug. 10, and Saturday. Anyone else? Some of the Pittsburgh crew should just randomly show up. Get a huge ass number of Balts and one or two IRLs out there. Goats, perhaps. Or a Charger. And they all, somehow, look to be about the same speed, give or take. Too bad Dan's RL isn't done...that would be an amazing WTF from no one who's seen it yet.

Only out near Allentown Too bad it's not around Harrisburg.

I went to railroad school in Philly about 8 years back, you'd be surprised how fast you can get there, and thats in a slow car.

I was just thinking, I'd friggin go if someone else or a couple others wanted to. Haven't really been to the drag strip, other than toward the beginning of summer.

Would be kinda funny to roll up in a couple 13 second LSJs, hanging around with more neo-old school muscle cars, but everyone getting along. Then go race, put up some numbers, and head home. Like a traveling act or some **** lol

How long a drive? 5 hours? Can pass quick if there're some fun open sections, and a couple quick cars. Hell, doing the mountains is fun as hell in these cars.

I would definetly do it but I doubt I could get another entire weekend off of work. I had to take last one off cause I was actually sick.

When did they say it was, I'm too lazy to have to check.

It was 5.5-6 hours to Philly on the turnpike doing the speed limit. I could do it in 5 or less if I played games but theres a lot of cops on that road.

Friday the 10th. Meeting at a K-mart or something then going to a drag strip for "legal street racing night" or something like that. Meeting @ like 430pm, then racing. That drive home would suck if you wanted to do it all in one day. Poor car, too

10+ hours of driving, with some strip time thrown in. I wonder who'd need a tow truck first? haha
