Holy ******* ****, the car I saw last week after work and thought it was just some Asian kid with a G35 being cute with badges..............was actually a REAL Skyline. New one. ****. I knew I should have carjacked it just in case.
Anyone on here come back from a vacation tonight and they parked at Charlie Browns for the airport shuttle? Because I noticed the CSS sitting there yesterday, and I bought it up today. Seemed stock, but it was still nice. Black SS s/c. High-pro wing, seemeingly an '06. Black/Red interior.
Someone posted the magazine cover with it on, so then I went digging around for pics of it. Twas most certainly identical to the GT-R shots. When I saw it I thought "Holy ****! Someone slapped a horrid looking body kit on their G35 and put Skyline badges on it." (Though it was RHD, so I guess all the Japanese G35s are badged as Skylines? That's what someone else said.) But it had the small red GT-R badge on the back. Didn't see the front of it, it drove past me from behind, but it was loud as hell, sounded pretty badass though. So I just figured it was some rich Asian kid from CMU that wanted to be a smartass and badge his JDM G35 up like a Skyline and did some exhaust work to it.
Now that I'm seeing the production pics of the GT-R, I'm fairly certain that's what it was.

Yeah, did some digging. It's definitely a Skyline, that is indeed the only badging for the G35 in Japan. Appearantly it's the Nissan Skyline 350GT, how that relates to the GT-R performance wise, I've got no clue. It definitely looked like it had the GT-R body kit on it though. ****** rich kids from CMU.
Yeah, G35's in Japan are badged as Skylines...trust me, I saw about 10 today. 350z's are called the Fairlady Z too
There are some BAD older gen skylines that the sailors have on base, but I'm not allowed to take any pics
Edit: I even saw a Mitsubishi GTO today...3000GT in the States

They were called Fairlady before there was ever a "Z" involved. I think the Fairlady started in the late 60s. I've seen some here that are called "Fairlady Z"'s, but I think it's just an option package.
