So if I throw someone 200 bucks they'll do the basics for me? I'm not too concerned with a dyno at this time anyway.. Will that be a very solid basis for modifying the 2.4 ECU-wise?
The engine control unit & transmission control unit (automatic) can both be tuned with the HPT. If PimpLay2 gets the HPT and with the help of Dead Zen and myself, we'll start tweaking/tuning. This is still only an idea, its up to PimpLay2 if he wants to spend the cash on it.

TCM = transmission control module. Tuneable for autos. This is what controls your shift points and stuff.
PCM = powertrain control module. This is where you tune PE, VE, timing, all the "good" stuff power-related.

Ill tune a 2.4 auto for 300
Ill tune w/e hpt supports for 300 for basic tune.
For a precise tune i recommend getting dyno time with a/f reading or installing an afr gauge in car.
I normally dont do this but I need cash...

You must if you're willing to go back into the local tuning business!
Seeing how you dont need to do much more work to change the shift points and shift firmness, I dont think that well be charging 300 for a tune. Credits + maybe 50-100. So $200 max if you drive to us. For just a basic tune, without a dyno or wideband.
NM, if you're willing to tune w/o dyno or wideband $200 might even be a little steep
Funny you said about an AF ratio gauge.. I have an AM one and am getting a stock s/c a pillar pod from Jester today for it. So if I do a good tune with a dyno, that AF gauge will actually truely benefit me..??
If wideband maybe. Depends on if it has an output wire or not...If it does it makes tuning very easy and very accurate. Otherwise the tuner has to eyeball it...but it can be done
Nobody replies to anything I say in this thread. Whats funny is I already have HPTuners plus I get the beta versions too when they come out, yet no one wants to help with the simple little inspection
Like I said, I would suggest reading some EFI Engine Management books now. And spending your lives on the hptforums reading, before you attempt to touch anybody elses car.
Im with you on that, and I know somone on here that still touches the customers cars and doesnt know how to tune, and he gets around it buy basically shutting off the knock sensor by de-sensitizing the tables, please dont get in the habit of doing that, Ive seen a few he's done lately when we logged them

its not a person in this area its closer to where I used to live in Buffalo, still up there though working with peoples cars. Im not getting into vendor bashing, seeing as I will be one soon, but it is a vendor on here.
I would help if I could, but I'm in worse shape than you - I've been out of inspection since May of 2007. I'm guessing you need more of a lick and stick type of place, as do I. As you can tell, I haven't had much luck.
really dont, mine will pass the emissions, it might not pass the visual cause there is no rear O2 sensor and on the buckle for the stock belts arent there, the main belt is there. There is a Cat there too its just extremely high flow so it doesnt look like much of a cat. I dont sell out shops because Im one myself Im just not going to get my inspection license. I just need some help

some tuners like the one Im fixing stuff for use it to cover mistakes and not knowing how to tune
BY THE WAY IT IS NONE OF THE SHOPS THAT ARE IN MY SIGNATURE, thos shops are worth every penny you pay
