Pittsburgh crew..

Considering buying a header and catless dp combo.. Will this set-up pass here in PA? I didn't originally think so, but my friend said that OBD II's are fine this way as long as there's no CEL's.. This correct? Is the header/dp able to be replaced yourself with common tools and a floor jack? Also, will tuning with HPT be able to remove CEL's and things? I have a random one every once in a while and it'd be just my luck that it'd pop up when I got it inspected. lol. If so, I need a tune come spring. Well, I will anyway, but especially if you can reset CEL's..

If it is catless, it should fail a visual. I say should because some mechanics dont look, but they all are required to.

Hmm. Any place around here that happens to forget that part? lol I mean, we're super in with Crivelli's in McKees Rocks. They didn't care about waranty when I had my intake and stuff on under 10k miles. Shouldn't be a problem, but I don't want to waste my time and money if not..

Do the cops check here? I only ask because in PA I've never had a cop ask to look, but I know in Texas they were allowed to do spot inspections for major missing exhaust components - both cats and mufflers/pipes.

As a rule, dealerships are less likely to "overlook" *wink wink* things than a ma and pa type place.

I thought "on the spot" inspections were only for places with non-normal inspections like Ohio and Cali..?

I think that unless your **** is SUPER loud or you're a douche-bag, they'll probably overlook you. Seems to be how it is for me. Keep it reasonable and you're alright.

No there's other places that can do it, but I don't think PA was one of them. Not sure on that though. Even if they could I would think *at worst* it would be a fix it ticket.

You're correct. I've never had it happen but I know that PA cops can do it. The cop has to be having a really bad day and just want to be a dick to do it. I've never had one do it and I've had some LOUD cars. But it definitely won't pass the visual inspection at the garage when you take it in for inspection. You better know the guy doing the inspection and give him a case of beer afterwards...

Pittsburgh crew.. Testing waters.. Might be trading carswith my Dad.. So I'd have a list of parts for sale and for trade..

Recaro front/rear set (trade for stock cloth/leather)

Enkei 18's (trade for 16's/17's)

c/f ram-air hood (trade for black stock hood)

triple pillar pod (for sale)

etc..

Any interest..? I'll put up an official list and thread when/if it happens.. Lemme know..

What kinda of Recaros? The blue or black ones from the Redlines? You said rear set too, so I assume they are Redline and not Cobalt Recaros.
