Sweet. Like I said, every Friday and Saturday night, midnight, they do the Floyd show. Def can get you in, and it's a blast.

So that's Wes and Alicia. Can take three more for free (I think).

Switching gears -- I'm finally getting sick of my buzzy exhaust. Thinking about a muffler...not so much a drone, just a little more mellow. No twinloop Cheap as possible, but I also don't want to buy a piece of crap...say $100 - $200. Remember, no cat.

Sorry, I've tried and tried again...the other GTO boys (excluding Adam) are too cool for autocross...and Matt is the only one to ever show up to even watch an event, and it was almost over when he got there. lol.

I guess they're afraid that if they tried it once, they would get addicted like me and become a part of this secret little society called the SCCA

For $100 you could have a quad twinloop setup............

Yeah, A for effort. Hehehe.

I'm the one responsible for Brian's addiction. Quite a few members of the SS crew have at least tried auto-x. Brian and I are the only addicts out of the bunch though. However if I end up with the job I'm applying for today.....I will be out and about big time next season.

I'd say Magnaflow too.

It CAN eat up money, that's why I don't go more often. Although Brian and I seem to have had great luck with our cars. My Pirellis lasted 17k, the Neros are on pace to hit 40k - they're at 20 now and just barely starting to show some wear (Neros are the BeaveRun tires). The R-comps, well, yeah, they're not going to last long at all, but they're not meant to either. They're strictly my auto-x tires. Ditto with brakes, I was happy with 36k on the stockers....that included 4 track days, 2 trips to PRP, and about 7 auto-x's. Suspension is still good at 50k, but if I can get into a job with a lot more pay like I"m looking at and/or my refund will cover it, coilovers will be on in the spring.

BTW, got an e-mail from my mom last week. Seems she saw BJ's mugshot in my hometown paper: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?n...d=468569&rfi=6

I personally like the 3rd one down. Nothing obnoxious about it.

Dan, did you put in on post-turbo install? Didn't know you had one on there. Pic?

Mike, if ya get a chance, could you put up a pic of the setup? I'll probably end up going with it...I'd rather have that sort of setup, since it (I assume) looks more stock than a can.

Dave--do you still have those rims/tires for sale?

Well, on the topic of drag racing vs. Autocrossing....

I LOVE drag racing. I'm not a fan of the sport-compact scene in drag racing as a whole, BUT I do enjoy it and think those guys have alot of mechanical talent and inventive as well.

No matter what form of racing you get into... if you are the casual person, you can do it relatively cheaply. If you at all want to be competitive and serious about it, you need to spend $$... period. No matter if it's 1/4 mile... autocrossing, or road racing.

Each has their +'s and -'s and you have to decide what best fits your budget, needs, and wants.

I've not spent a ton yet on autocross, but I see it coming. Depending on what class structure you want to run in, you can spend ALOT of money. Even in "stock" classes, you can get alot into the car. If you think cars locally are prepped at an autocross ( for those of you that have seen one ), you have NO clue what a real autocross car is.

Take the insane cars locally at an event, and take that x10. Justin's BSP 2004 STI is a well-prepped car with sponsors and he still has alot dumped into and came in 8th @ nationals.

Just like going big drag racing. You build a car and run well, adn then go to a regional event and get spanked... time to break out the checkbook again.

I plan on creating a budget plan for the 2008 season, and also an overall tally of what I spend to get an idea what I need to go that extra step.

Well I can't even afford to live right now, so I'm out for basically EVERYTHING, even casually. I knew there was a catch to the "do what you love, the money will come later" spiel....

Well, since I'm only doing something "that I can tolerate", I am making an OK living at it. I DO like where I work, and yes, I know I could go work somewhere and make more, but $$ is not everything, contrary to what most will say.

Sanity is paramount.

Since I have no life outside of work and the summer car show/autocross seasons, I have the extra $ to do so. Not having kids, a wife, or girlfriend helps with that.

Well, ATM I can only tolerate my job too, but in following my "ideal" career path I'm finding that happiness doesn't pay the bills.

It's not even that I want to be rich, I just want enough money to pay the bills. I can't support two people on what I make and new bills keep rolling in daily. It just sucks.
