indeed it does but i realized things in our relationship weren't heading in the right direction. we had lots of disagreements that we eventually talked about and tried to resolve but she seems to refuse to change or compromise. i've made all the compromising in the relationship and it made me very unhappy. i realized that in order for us to make things work, marriage, that we had a lot of work to do and needed more time than just a few months. we needed to mature more as a couple but she gave me an ultimatum...either marry as planned or never...so i chose never. lucky for me though she gave back the ring otherwise i'd be bent over takin one...

Yes, it takes two to make things work. Unfortunately, all too often things go the way you described, with one person making all the changes/compromises and the other simply dictating what "needs to be done". If that's how thngs were, and if you were truly unhappy, then you did the right thing. She apparently wasn't willing to work with you anyway if she gave you such an ultimatum. Sorry to hear, but again it sounds like you did the right thing.

well i hope i made the right decision. i find myself now battling with myself on whether or not i did in fact make the right decision. i think about all the good times we had together which are welcoming thoughts but then i also think about all those bad times and pondering to myself why i am in the relationship. i developed many doubts about the whole thing and doubts can be cumbersome to overcome and very stressful. ever since i met her she has alwasy been unable to make and stick with a decision of her own. when we first started dating it was always one of those weekly on-off scenes because she couldn't decide on what she wanted. eventually the relationship progressed but yet the on-off crap kept occuring but it went from weekly to monthly...then we finally started dating solidly and everything was splendid and then we got engaged and everything seemed to have changed overnight. but now i've put myself in the position of being the one to break it off instead of her. she put me through a lot of turmoil in the early stages of our dating and now it has come back to bite her in the ass. this isn't an act of revenge at all...just an awkward coincidence. awkward because she is still living with me because she hasn't found a new apt yet. i feel though that i have made the right decision. i guess now i can hang out with my friends again and go out and get shitty again without having her to yap at me. that was always a pain in the ass...go out and have a good time with the boys only to come home to a bitch storm.
