Anyways your goat is real nice. Makes me wish I woulda waited and bought a better car even more. Gas prices almost make me think otherwise though... Either way the T&T taught me the important lesson of "the SS is hard as **** to launch good, and the stock clutch blows..."
What did you run?

Hahaha thats funny you ask... Embarrassing times, but if you guys promise to not make fun of me I'll tell...

My first run I totally FRIED the clutch. It slipped soo terribly bad it didn't catch the entire time. I realllly hope I didn't fully screw things up with it... Soo with that said the first run was like a 21.6 @ 61 with a 3.1 60' ROFL ROFL ROFL

If you want the full story I posted a thread entitled "WTF Is Wrong With My Car? HELP PLEASE?!?" https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/drivetrain-79/wtf-wrong-my-car-help-please-120441/

Second run was significantly better but still extremely disappointing to me... I reallllly babied it off the line seeing how I almost killed it on the first launch and only got on it hard after shifting into second. I was very happy however with how it performed top end after 2nd gear getting traction. It pulled nice and hard through the 1/4 running (a still sad) 14.60 @ 102 with a 2.5 60' (I forget exact 60')...

Either way I'm KINDA happy with it trapping at 102 for running such a shitty time... I only got 2 passes in because someone's engine blew oil all over the track and it took them forever to clean it up...

I am extremely ridiculously unimpressed however with how terribly this car performs from a dig and how terrible quality the stock clutch is. I have driven all kinds of cars, and this one takes the cake for being the most oddly difficult to launch. Any suggestions, lol?

Anyways, I just ordered a full exhaust for car, soo hopefully that will liven it up a little more. I am still in need of a tune though, and none of you PGH guys seem to have HPT and offer any tuning... In the mean time, I think I will practice the almighty driver mod until I decide I truly hate this car...

If you guys are really looking for a good laugh, I'll post my epic >21 second run timeslip...

Yeah. R-comps + full launch would scare me. I bout snapped an axel on and overly ambitious regular event launch.

I have to say I'm shocked I've not snapped one this year... I have been gettin really aggressive out there... launching @ 3000+, but not dropping the clutch, but rolling into it.

Those guys in AWD cars are really launching hard...

I'll post up how things are going each night...

Anyone going to pittsburgh drag track wednsday? think time starts at 530. im taking my g5, my friend is bring his mazda mx3 and my other friend is bringing his mustang.

his mustang is full stock, i might be able to overtake him. hes putting out 210 hp but he has bigger wheels, bigger body so more weight.
i got CAI, Catback, and 07 tune and im not telling him but im putting in 93 gas.

Im an auto, for launch, is it better to stay in Drive and push the brake and gas til it reaches 2k or rev the car in nuetral til like 5k and punch it into D???
i got the rev limiter off so i can actually go up to 7k but think that will be bad lol.

He has AT LEAST 70hp advantage and only weighs about 500-600 lbs more. On paper he should still rape you.

BTW save your $2, the only thing 93 octane is going to do is make your car say "WTF is this ****?"

That will hurt your tranny. Drop in around 3-4k max.

And...

There's a drag strip in pittsburgh? I should google it but I haven't...

Whatever glue GM used to hold that rear bowtie on should be ******* outlawed. lol. I tried painting the gold center first.. Came out ok until I removed the tape and paper and it smudged. So I decided to just remove the front and rear badges. After a goddamn hour of peeling and Goo-Gone-ing the **** was finally all gone. Wow. lol. Rediculous..

And yeah, for the auto, use the stall converter. Mash the brake and hold the gas. I'll stay at a certain RPM until you let off the brake. Works great!

Heat gun to take the badge off and then soak it with goo gone and let it sit for abotu 5 minutes and then get a rag out and whip it off. Might have to do that 2 or 3 times but it works like a charm...

Yeah, it took me no time at all as well. Warmed the adhesive up a little, coaxed it off and it was fine. Little adhesive remover and good to go. Was like all of 5 minutes.

Guess I never thought to heat it up. lol. That should be the new form of capitol punishment.. Being forced to remove Cobalt rear emblems without a heatgun. People would kill themselves. haha
