well... went out and took a look at a potential new Conekiller....

2002 Z06... Millenium Yellow.. 53K miles.
Very clean overall car, and in very good mechanical shape. Some little issues here and there, but nothing yet that I can see that I'd run from.

They were "agressive" on the price... ( eh, not really ) only wanting to come down $500 off the car's price. We'll see. I wasn't able to get a drive of it, since while I was checking fluids on start up I heard a ticking... and turns out it was a cut serpentine belt... so no drive...

We'll see if they want to come down more. It's nice, but not nice enough for the $$ they're asking.

Hey guys, and girls beings I saw alleycat is a female. I just joined the site today and have been looking around and reading posts and came across this one. I'm from Conneaut Lake, I'm sure someone here know's where it's at. But I just got my Cobalt SS a week and a half ago after buying a Cobalt LS brand new last year and finally got a nicer one. Still have both Cobalts. Looking to throw some mods on it, wanting to get some opinions on what some of you think should be done first and what to use. My IM names are posted if you would rather talk on there. Hope to hear from you soon.

I think the price is very aggressive if its what you told me at prp, Wouldn't expect too much more off, but thats my opinion

Hey guys and girls. I have my connections for everything in the area except one thing. Is there a shop that does alignments on suspemsions with camber plates, meaning most coil over suspensions.

I dont ever plan on buying a rack for alignments and except for a true racer, a normal customer wont want to see me aligning there car with strings and such, I will mine. But does anyone know a shop around here that can handle it.

Thanks in advance

hey what up and welcome. i know exactly where the lake is being i live like 5 mins from there. we'll have to meet up one of these weekends.

the usual first mods here seems to be lowering springs or coilovers, wheels and intake. i can help answer questions you have and with the installs if you need.

where'd ya move from anyhow?

My buddy works for Sears Auto Center in Ross Park Mall. They just got 2 brand new top of the line alignment machines. I'd have to imagine they can do it. I'll ask him. FYI he's the only one I'd trust to align my car.

yeah the machine is one thing. Its knowing what your adjusting, because a lot of techs havent seen this style unless you race. If he know whats he is doing, I will be more then glad to bring him business

like i said i can do it with strings and such but sometimes the customers unless they have knowledge dont know what Im doing. Id buy a rack but I wont do enough alignments to justify that.

Hehehe. Welcome to the site. I do know where Conneaut is. Not up that way often, but I know where it is.

As far as first mods I'd go with intake/exhaust but that's a matter of personal opinion.

The only person I know that I would trust touching my car with coilovers on also uses the string method. Then again I'm in the racer category, so I don't know that I could be of much help - I see nothing wrong with the string method.

Right we dont. I do it all the time. Problem is sometimes the customer thinks its sketchy, so I was hoping I could work with a shop, incase the customer isnt comfortable with the sring method

Well.... they got it at auction.. so I KNOW they didn't pay even close to Kelly's trade in value... they have $1300 into the car. The way it looks, if i bought the car for what they want, they'd be making ALOT off the car....

Might just go get a loan on my own and go buy from a private owner for less$$

He's one of the best mechanics I know. I've known him for probably 10 years now. If you like I can introduce you to him and you can ask him some questions and see if you think he'd be able to do the kind of job you'd be comfortable with. Also I know the guy who runs the corporate accounts at Sears and he could set you up for one of those so you get a discount on any tires or work you get done at the auto center if you like what you hear if you wanna talk to him.
