We'll see, I'd rather just leave and drive to Austintown if I stop anywhere. I don't want to have to meet and wait, then drive, and meet and wait, and drive. It's gonna turn an hour and a half drive into a 3 or 4 hour drive. But we'll see what's up.

Thanks will do! I'm actually leaning towards what you said as well, about just getting the drive done all at once with as few stops as possible. My question then is, are we literally just going to drive up to the gates of Lordstown en masse , or is there an actual meet going on, and the tour is merely a "bonus" part of that meet?

 

I think we just drive up there. I'm not real sure. I don't even know for sure that I'll be going. It'll all come down to how I'm feeling later in the week.

 

Sooooo noone wants to drive out together? All I'm saying is we could meet at a location that everyone would have to pass anyway.. Like Robinson. The Mall would be perfect. Make it for 7 or whatever. Whoever is there at 7 leaves. Whoever is not doesn't join the caravan. Simple as that. I'd like to roll out together, but if no-one else wants to, then whatever.

 

Robinson is out of the way for us. I don't think anyone wants to roll out together... hence why no one responded about it. Just saying.

No one responds to anything I say usually. So I just post it twice. I was excited because I've never done anything with the .NET crew, and I've only ever met a few other members on here ever, so I was excited to roll out together because I think that'd be really fun. But if you guys don't want to, hey, that's cool. I'm not trying to start world war 3 by making a simple suggestion. My bad.

I understand that. What way were you guys going? Maybe it's because I'm in the west, but I go up 60N to get there. That's the main reason I suggested meeting in Robinson, since it's directly off of 60N. Is there anywhere else that would be more convenient to you, or do you all just want to meet up at the mini-meet before the show?

 

Hey I'm coming out there via 79 North from the Kirwan Heights ramp. Honestly bud, If your looking for someone to roll with, I wouldnt have a problem with that!

 

Like Dan said, Robinson is INSANELY out of the way for me. That's putting me almost an hour behind on an hour and a half trip.

The thing is, with it being such a short drive it's kind of silly to meet ANYWHERE. On paper it's an hour and a half drive...in reality it's closer to an hour drive. We're all already headed to a central meeting place, we can all reconvene there, it's a little silly to sit somewhere and wait for other people. By the time you get yourself ready, get out, get to the meeting spot, wait for everyone and leave, you could have been there by then. That's my POV on it. If it were 2+ hours like it was for the trip to Columbus, then yeah, meeting ahead of time makes a little more sense.

The only places we'd meet would be out of the way for SOMEONE. 60 is faster for you and Matt on the West side, everyone else is taking the Turnpike I would assume.

Nah, I don't think anyone was getting bent out of shape, it's just that each area thinks they've got the perfect meeting place because the logical route changes so much from place to place. For example, for the Dans, they'd probably say Sheetz in Irwin, for me I couldn't imagine anyplace but Miracle Mile in Monroeville, and for the west siders it changes yet again. With the drive being SO SHORT from any one place in Pittsburgh, it's silly to have people worrying about making cross-town trips that take half as long by themselves as the whole trek would be. There's not a whole lot of common ground we'd be driving on either - by the time we're on the same route as people from the other side of town, we're almost there.

Like I said, put this a few more hours away - Altoona, Columbus, Buffalo, DC, etc - then yeah, it'd make sense to meet at some point along the road since we'd all eventually have to merge into the same route and drive for a good piece together.

 

Totally understandable. I didn't realize some of you weren't actually directly IN Pittsburgh.. That's why I was confused. But in that case, that makes perfect sense. So we'll see whoever is comming when we get to the plant, or the mini-meet if you're going to that. Anyone going to that for sure? I am.. And SpecSlow, where'd you like to meet if you did want to roll? What kinda Cobalt do you have?

 

Well, we're still IN Pittsburgh, well, some of us are. It still takes me 25 minutes to get to Robinson and it's the opposite direction from Lordstown actually on a weekend if there's Parkway construction it's closer to 45 minutes to an hour to Robinson. It's all in what side of the city you live on.

 

That is indeed true. All that construction is getting ridiculous.. I just wasn't quite sure if people were all going one way or if there was a bunch of ways to get there. Every time I've gone that way I've gone 60N, that's why I was figuring.. But no big deal.

 

Yeah, 60N is the absolute best way for you guys out there. Everyone else that I know of that's going is coming from somewhere on the east side of town, either like me from Forest Hills, or from farther out around Greensburg. Either way we all live within a few miles of the Turnpike, so that's MUCH faster for us.

I'm not 100% on going just yet, we'll see how the rest of the week goes. I've been sick the past few days, so we'll see.

The mini-meet I could take it or leave it. Honestly I'd rather just drive up to Lordstown and get there and not piddle around in a parking lot for an hour, but we'll see.
