Pittsburgh Crew < You
Totally understandable. I didn't realize some of you weren't actually directly IN Pittsburgh.. That's why I was confused. But in that case, that makes perfect sense. So we'll see whoever is comming when we get to the plant, or the mini-meet if you're going to that. Anyone going to that for sure? I am.. And SpecSlow, where'd you like to meet if you did want to roll? What kinda Cobalt do you have?
did i meet you at wexford? i have the victory red ss/tc?
Me and SpecSlo are rollin' out together. However everyone else is on the other side of town, so they're going their own way. Instead of one big caravan we have a couple small groups i sounds like..
Yeah, what kind of food stuffs will be provided? Kinda excited that GM is buying me lunch..

Wes, you actually bringing your car or you just riding with Dan? Hell.. I don't even know what you've got anymore.. Still have the orange s/c..??
All I can say is to email the guy. I've sure you'd be fine.. But it's Saturday at like 9am-2pm or something in that ballpark.. Hope you can make it. If you can, if you'd like to meet in Robinson, we're having a small 2-3 car caravan from the west..
I found the thread, sorry.

Robinson is right off of 60N, but that's a tiny bit off of 79. Honestly not long, but if you'd rather just drive straight like the other members, I don't blame you.
Wes, what do you have now??

im right beside beaver bro... it would take me 5 minutes to get there
Hey guys, I have read up on all the different tires threads on here, and after trying to digest all the info, I still can't make a good decision on a tire to replace my now worn out after 10,000 miles stock Pirellis. The car will be driven year round, unless there is more than like a quarter inch of snow on the ground, or if I get caught out in the snow. I remember last winter was hell in this car, and I felt like I was going to die nonstop... So with that being said, my emphasis is basically on performance from the tire. I want grip for better launches and cornering. I have access to a 4x4 truck, and I work 2.7mi from home, soo hopefully winter should be OK... A reasonable price is preferred but I will be open, just nothing ridiculous. The car has springs, so I was thinking a 225/40ZR18 would be a good size so as not to rub or anything... Sooo, in everyone's experience, what do you local guys like to run with these shitty ass PA roads? Also is there anywhere local to this area that has some good deals, or am I better ordering off of tirerack or something? Thanks!
Cliff Notes --> Tires for performance that won't kill me if the car HAS to be driven in a small amount of snow? Car is lowered, soo I was thinking a 225/40ZR18... Local or Internet? Opinions..?

You DO NOT want to run any 18 inch tire (snow tire or not) in the snow. Pretty much everyone on here has bought a rim and tire package for snow. The popular is some 16inch steelies and some winterforce tires. Or, some cheapo 16 inch alum. and some winterforce tires. The winterforce tires are AWESOME inthe snow. Myself, Testa, Brian, Wes and Alicia have all run them in the snow and love em. Jester had 18 inch blizzacks and he hated them. Buy a 16 inch snow tire for snow. Keep the 18's for the other 3 seasons. And for your 18's, id recommend stock tire size - Kuhmo Ecsta SPT's. Me, Pazz and All have all run them and they are the best performance bang for the buck. I got mine at Esseys in Rostraver for 110 mounted and balanced per wheel.
Thanks for the opinions guys... I don't see the need however to have a separate set of snow wheels/tires as my father's truck is always available for use in the snow. With that being said, is it recommend to go straight performance and get something that isn't even M+S rated? Or get something that is a good all season tire? The most important things to me are good dry and wet traction and handling. Like I said, I just don't want to be stuck out somewhere with the car when it start snowing hard, and have trouble getting the car home. That happened a couple times last winter, and it sucked bad. What about the BF KDW2's that everyone on here seems to recommend? Also why would it not be recommended to go with a little wider tire? Thanks!
