Pretty much anything you get that's not M&S rated is gonna **** you over if you get caught in a surprise snow storm. I have 16" steelies and Dunlop Winter Sport M3's and I love em! If you live in the Burgh you definitely want to get winter wheels and tires. The salt will eat away at the finish on your stock wheels (or any wheel for that matter). And we all know how sturdy the finish is on the stock 18's right? Not to mention would you rather hit a pot hole with your 18's or with a 16" steel wheel? The pot holes around here could probably swallow our cars LOL.

BTW you can get the same package I listed above from www.TireRack.com for $628.00+shipping. However they ship the tires already mounted and balanced and ready to put on. Pretty good deal if you ask me...

KDW2's are awesome tires. However, the warning on them is they should be driven in nothing under 40-45 degrees. You will find that with any performance summer tire. You can get a performance all season but your tread width will be narrower and the sholders and sidewalls will be softer. A good ride, but performance will suffer. Best bet is to go to tirerack.com and compare both the all season performance and the summer performance tires and you will see the rating differences. Personally, if i knew i would not be taking the car out during cold/snowy days, then I'd buy a performance summer tire and be done with it. If you are still set on getting a performance all season then i would recommend the Kuhmo Ecsta ASX's. I have them on my evo and like them alot. They are good in the snow, good when dry, ok on cornering and after 8500 miles they are starting to get noisy.

QFT. I would give getting a winter wheel and tire combo another look IMO.

Until I got those I never thought winter tires were worth a **** (and I even worked for NTB for several years) and now I'll get them for every car I own from now on!

^^^^ Thanks. Those Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions seem like a real nice tire for all around use. They are a little expensive at around $165 a tire, but not bad at all. Anyone know of a deal on them? Anyway I can't justify spending $600+ dollars for a dedicated set of snow rims and tires. I'll just drive my dad's F150 if it calls for snowy conditions. I'm gonna see if I can find any good deals around here, or I might order online. I do know that NTB used to price match online prices, I'll have to check... Any other suggestions?

The other tires listed such as the Kumho's seem nice, and also the KDW2's, but the car will definitely be seeing freezing cold temperatures, and some light snow. I will probably be better off with an all season. Will these however provide better traction than the stock Pirelli's? Really anything has to be better than those stockers, lol, right?

Here's what I do. I find the best price I can find online (99% of the time online is cheaper) and I progress all the way through like I'm buying them and get the total out the door price with shipping included. I'll then take the page I printed out with the total OTD price to sears and make them match that exact price for all 4 tires. If you don't they're gonna match the price plus 15% which they say is comparable to the shipping and handling charges the online place will charge you. Now on a $700 order that will be $105 and if you're gettin charged that much for shipping and handling then you're gettin ripped off!

The advantage to this is that if you bought the tires online you would have to pay a fee to have the tires mounted in addition to the balancing charges (it's about $10-$15 per tire) but now that you've bought the tires from Sears (for the same price you would've paid for the tires online) you no longer have to pay the fee to have the tires mounted. You only have to pay the fee for balancing...

I do this every time I need tires. You'll probably have to push back a bit and insist they match that exact price or you'll take the business elsewhere but 99% of the time they will match it rather than have the sale walk out the door.

Myself, Testa, Brian, Wes and Alicia have all run them in the snow and love em. Jester had 18 inch blizzacks and he hated them. Buy a 16 inch snow tire for snow. Keep the 18's for the other 3 seasons. And for your 18's, id recommend stock tire size - Kuhmo Ecsta SPT's. Me, Pazz and All have all run them and they are the best performance bang for the buck. I got mine at Esseys in Rostraver for 110 mounted and balanced per wheel.
Almost right, I did not run Winterforce tires - I run the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's on Pontiac G6 16" wheels. Love them. Absolutely love them. Back when I had the stock Rossos I used to be sad to put them back on as the Winter Sports actually out handled the Rossos. Now that I have the Neros it's a toss-up.

Couple things.....

Alicia... in case you haven't heard... effective immediately... all Cobalts are moved to DSP from CSP...

I took the 2002 Z06 for a drive now that they have the tranny fixed. AMAZING how much different the car felt... great car...

price dropped even further.... another $1500 below what they are asking.... really might have a Z06 in the driveway in the next week.

the ITR might be going to BS....

All SRT4s, MS3s and a few others move to GS as well if it goes thru

MASSIVE stock class re-structuring happening in 2010

Anyone interested in a set of 16 inch Sport Edition F7's? They have Hankook K106 tires on them. The tires are great. The wheels are good. I'd say about 90% on the wheels and 90% on the tires too. I traded my stock 2.4 wheels for them, but found out that K106's are ***** in the snow. They'd make a good track set.. Lemme know! I'll post up pics soon..

good morning folks. i need some opinions. at the moment i have a clear image stainless header/dp 3" and a stainless 2.5" magnaflow cat back. where the front short pipe exits the resonator to dp there is a crack going practically around the entire pipe.

here are my options:
1. just have it welded shut
2. have a new piece of stainless cut and welded in
3. delete the resonator and replace w/2.5" stainless
4. keep resonator/muffler/tip and redo with 3" stainless piping

What would you do? I was leaning towards 3. but i don't want the car to be any louder than it already is. i've already tried option 1 but the guy that did it must be a tard cuz it's shitty and already breaking off...waste of a measly $30. the sound that eminatres right now is raspy and i can hear it leaking out of that crack.

Do not run a summer only in the winter, they will be rock hard and suck ass.

I loved my RE960AS's... 400 treadwear... 40,000 mile warranty from bridgestone, Still have em in the basement on my stock wheels, going to run them this winter.

So... I've begun the process of buying the Z06......

One thing I found out... the Z06 is cheaper to insure than the SS.....

by this time next week, I could have it sitting in the driveway.

Spec, got your message. Working on getting it printed for you now.

Might print out a few extras just incase..

Also, we're pulling into Beaver around 7:30 to scoop up PimpLay2 on the way. That way your red t/c has another red t/c to be friends with.
