Got my car back after it was at Star for 3+ weeks. I'm taking it back because its missing screws and push pins. They bent the heat exchanger fill bracket to hell and reattached it with one screw thats just threaded enough to keep it on. They didn't bother attaching my fuse box back into place. Its just floating there and I haven't even looked under the car yet. The engine bay is dirty as ****.

On a plus note, it seems to drive fine and its not leaking anything......yet.

This is directly off the Stars receipt
Oil pump locked up
Spinning front pulley on crank shaft -metal through motor
Remove engine. Remove crank and bearings. Clean inside of
motor for metal shavings -Installed new crank and bearings.
Ft cover oil pan

Then when I get called to pick it up I told them that I might not be able to get it today. They then proceed to tell me they need the rental back today.

The parts list is a mile long. Now I know why GM is going under. Someone decided it was more economical to remove an engine and completely disassemble it. Then order 20+ new parts for it that I'm just guessing total around 2000+$. Then reassemble the whole motor and place it back in the car. Then have me drive a rental for 23 days.

They could have ordered a crate engine and had me drive the rental for a week.

End Rant

No one ever said GM was smart.

They make cheap/affordable cars. About it.

So when you ready to drop that oil pan again? Lol.

When we took my girl's Cobalt to a body shop after a winter time accident that she busted the cooling system, we got it back and it was still overheating. We wondered why. Then we realized they didn't hook the goddamn fan up. Jesus.

They didn't give me any **** about the intake, clutch, mounts, or axles. Car is still running well and isn't leaking anything. It's hard getting it into gears every once in a while.

Take it to Baierl! They are pretty cool about mods there. I have a friend that's a tech there and he said the service manager there don't really care about them unless it really obvious that it caused the failure

They cant do that....they are lying out their ass.

Take it to another dealer...it is noted in the system but they cant say anything. but seriously tell them you know your rights under the Moss Magnuson act and they need to prove that it caused the failure. Tell them to get their engineering degrees out...you want an exact reason that will hold up in court.

Where is a local place that can get lowered vehicles onto an alignment machine? I heard there was a Nissan dealership that had a floor one for the new Skyline. I tried to get one when I got my new tires, but it didn't get up on the machine. lol.

Average like I said before take it to Sears in Ross Park Mall and tell them you want Shawn Regalla to do it. They can get my Step Dad's corvette on there and it's only 3-4 inches off the ground so I would assume they can get a lowered cobalt on there...

they tried telling me today that my warrenty was void because of aftermarket modifications, i told then that the law says that a warrenty cannot be voided only restricted and only on the basis that the aftermarket part was in direct correlation of the failure of the part being replaced, so they call back an hour later and tell me that they just ordered the part and it will be in tuesday, I win.................

Can't help ya on the first one. Just whatever you do, stay away from Pep Boys up on 60. My guess is you'll leave with a broken wheel hub.

BTW, were you at the Pointe tonight? I was 2 cars behind a Cobalt on Redline wheels, but it looked like an 07+ LT, not a 2.4.

Make sure that they're not just ordering the part and then sticking you with the bill. Dealers are shady like that sometimes.

That's what I thought, it was at like 8:30 so almost totally dark. The only thing I could see for sure were the Redline wheels. I was pretty sure it wasn't an SS, looked like the 2.2 bumpers on it. But it was black with Redline wheels so I figured I'd ask.

When I was running the PT Cruiser 24/7 I would see SS's every where out here. Now that the Cobalt's back on the road, I haven't seen anyone.
