I was looking at buying too. I looked at quite a few but didn't feel like I wanted the responsiblity of fixing stuff. So many houses need fixed up. I didn't want to be making 500+$ house payments plus insurence too. That would leave 0 fun money.

The house I was looking at was $60k, newly renovated in Monroeville. I figure I'm paying almost $700 for rent plus insurance on this place, so buying I can make quite a few pennies.

Yeah, Sam came thru for sure. His price is a couple bucks lower than what other places are selling for, and maybe on a group buy they would eb cheaper, but this way I'm not tied down to buying at a certain time.
This way I can get my wheels 1st and worry about the shocks in a few weeeks.

There was a house near my parents house that was for sale for over a year. Its the one Mikey(red skittle) bought. I think he got it for 70K. At the time my parents wouldn't co-sign. So I bought the cobalt and they co-signed for that. Doesn't make sense to me. I figure maybe after a year when the lease expires I'll look around .

Yeah, I'm just sick of sharing a space with other people. Granted I live in a duplex, so my place is pretty private, I just want something that's MINE. I thought about looking either farther north or farther east to get out of Allegheny county taxes.

Jen bought her house pretty cheap, $70k, 5 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms. Needed a little work but not much. The only thing I don't like about where she lives (Ambridge) is it's considered a historical district so you're limited in a lot of renovations and stuff. Uber-ghey. I love Monroeville area, but Murraysville is Westmoreland County...cheaper taxes FTW.

When i was looking for places to live when i had my job downtown i looked at Murrysville and you save big on taxes cuz you arent raped by Allegheny county, but all of Murrysville and up over the hill into parts of Harrison City and Level Green are now considered prime land due to access of 22 into downtown. They just put in a multi-million dollar housing plan basically across from PT highschool that goes almost half way down to 22. Lots are selling there for like 60k an acre. No house. Dan probably knows where im talking about since he lives out that way. Although you may want to still look at Level Green. Nice area, not brand new type homes but newer. I have some friends that live out that way and they all really like it.

I know people who live in murrysville and they say the taxes are high. I guess when you compare it to allegheny county everything is cheaper.

Yeah, I've got a few places I'm looking. Washington, Beaver, or Westmoreland Counties would all be ideal. The one girl I work with lives in Alliquippa and she said prices there aren't too bad.

Yeah I know exactly where you're talking about.

Level Green is very nice. That's where Denny lives. Kate also grew up there. I'm not sure what's available there though.

Yeah, Aliquippa depends ENTIRELY on what section you're in. For the most part it's not that great, but some parts are alright. I remember when I was driving Jen's sister back and forth to rehab I DREADED going through parts of there.

Yes, Murrysville taxes are some of the higher ones in this part of westmoreland county. N.Hunt, Levelgreen, mUrrysville.. they are all higher.

I'll be looking out towards various parts of westuern Butler, & eastern Beaver counties. Unless I find a steal in this area. Or... the I ended up meeting someone and she has a better idea.

Wes, Good to hear about the parts... Crower makes some GOOD parts.

Bowling tonight... got the car washed and will post pics later of how drity it was.

Yep - I'm in Level Green. I moved here from Monroeville and my house there was a small ranch on just a regular size lot and the taxes were more expensive than what I am paying for 1.5 acres in Level Green! Definately worth looking at Level Green, especially since I am literally less than a mile from the county line. I definately love where I live.

Well I made some purchases today...Bigger intercooler and bigger injectors, and a little bigger turbo being ordered Monday. Here it is... http://linux.forcedperformance.net/m...e=Lancer_Turbo Keeps near stock spool but flows more and gives more top end, so that plus meth = Also have an upgraded wastegate, and I'm looking for a test pipe and O2 housing.

Now as soon as I make sure I fixed the damn leak into the passenger side I can put my carpet and rear seat back in...I am SO sick of hearing the whine of the Walbro fuel pump!!

Also, I am planning a "I hate my next door neighbor meet" at my house, so everyone make sure your exhausts are nice and loud! We can line up in my driveway with rear ends facing the neighbors and "compare our exhausts"...if I'm really lucky, they will be having a picnic that day! There will be swimming (if you want), BBQ, liquor, etc. I'll let everyone know when it gets closer. Don't let this discourage you from Level Green - it's only 1 neighbor, and EVERYONE hates them HAHAHAHA

ZOMG good food!!!!! Penne w/creamy red sauce and tomato, herb, and garlic chicken marinade with some Italian dressing thrown in. Made by Chef BoyarME. Yummy!!!!!

Thanks for the advice, Denny! I'm still kicking around options. I know Allegheny County taxes are rediculous, so I'd really like something just outside if I can swing it.

I know! I was thinking that. I think I'm going to talk to him about installing my coilovers. Give him a preview of the 2k7 racing season at BR...

LOL, I have three neighbors I hate, one next door, one across the street and one two doors down. The one next door is just nosy as hell. Just gets into EVERYTHING. I even caught her in MY garage going through my **** one time !!!!!!!!! Second one brings their dog over in MY YARD to do her business. When I first had Bailey it was tough to potty train her cause my whole yard smelled like another dog. So I scooped up all the other dog's poop and left it on their doorstep. Problem partially solved, they still bring it over to pee. The third one is an African drummer. Not black-guy-that-plays-drums (well, he's that too), I mean AFRICAN drummer. Not an indoor one either. Outdoor in the summer, in the garage with the door open in the winter. I don't mind African drums, it's honestly kinda cool....but we're not talking a nice, normal 9-5 African drummer either....this is like a 9pm-1am African drummer.........

Those are ALL reasons why I needed more land! LOL The ONLY thing that sucks about my place is that the only neighbor that I (and everyone else) hates is the only one that is close to my house! All the others have a good amount of my property, as well as their backyards, between us.

I really don't think I could go back to a condo or even neighborhood where someone is right next to me - I'd end up killing someone. If I ever move again, I'll buy 10 acres and plop a trailer in the middle of it if I have to just to stay away from people

Damn you Denny. Just when I start modding to catch up, you go further. I can see myself putting that Holset on with the Twinscrew in a year or so at this rate, lol.

You better see yourself paying for your mods in a year or so. Loans only last so long before you have to start paying them back.
