Angry SS/SC Cobalt performance in snow

My 2006 SS/SC 5 speed Cobalt has new tires. I drove it during the beginning of last weeks snow and was all over the road. My car sat in the driveway for 8 days during the snow storm before that. Is anyone else's car undrivable in the snow? I used my son's 2002 automatic Neon (which was my car before this Cobalt) and it handled great. I can't take it anymore.

All-seasons are a ******* joke. Winter tires are the only way to go and anyone who tells you otherwise is dumb.

/thread.

...Oh, and inb4 "U JUST NEED SK1LLS!!!!1!!" Ummm... Well, you could bring a knife to a warzone, but that doesn't mean you should. Use the right tools for the job.

snow tires make 1000% more difference. Rallyracer has them on his SC SS and the thing is great in snow. Ive had them on all my cars now and I wont go back...hell I even have them on my 4x4.

This is true. My cobalt wouldn't move in the snow. All you would hear is spinning tires and supercharger.

Now I don't seem to have that problem.

Snow tires are a must on these coblats
Got mine on yesterday and I feel safe going over 10mph again. I know I have an LS so I can't imagine how hard/tempting it must be to control an sc during the winter.

i have all season Bridgestone RE960 Pole Positions and they ******* blow in the snow!

i cannot begin to fathom the difficulty of driving an SS with all seasons.

Snows are better then drag radials in the snow aren't they?

hahahahahahah

EDIT: I'm rocking all seasons that came on my Fusion. 225-45-18. The car does perfectly fine in 6" of snow. My guess is the OP doesn't know how to drive in snow.

Only a couple of hundred pounds which doesn't have a huge effect. It's all about driving for the conditions. And no, I don't do under the speed limit in the snow, unless traffic is holding me up.

They way i see is that you should have snow tires in any snow condition, Wouldent you like to protect your investment knowing that you have SOME peace of mind with safer tires??.....i can see everyone quoting this lol good or bad.

Though that may be the case, your statement is still horseshit. Here's an idea: combine driving skill WITH winter tires and see how you fare.

You can be the best driver in the world but a mediocre driver on good winter tires will still drive circles around you. End of story. You can rationalize all you like, but you're still wrong.

I'm quoting you because you're 100% right.

I have snows sitting in my shed if I wanted to but them on. I had snows on my G35 and understand the differences. I'm not a n00b. I'm not an idiot. I'm just saying with some cautious driving, snows aren't required.

EDIT: Half this forum probably think it's safer to drive around with snows just on the front.

i just put on all performance all season just before the first storm.
i so how managed to stay alive. although, i did get rear ended.
but you just need to take it slow.
i slide a little with my new tires but its all about controlling your car.
snow tires do make a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference then any other tire though.

are you on the stock pirellis? I Don't think he stated he had all seasons, but "new" tires.
