What Do You Pay In Insurance (nj Residents)

Please, someone from NJ tell me what you are paying a month in insurace. I have a 1998 Camaro V6 and I am paying $130 a month, 20 yrs old, no accidents, no tickets. I have a feeling it will be well over $200 a month, so I may put the car in my dads name. Just so I know what I am looking at monthly for insurance. Only guys in NJ that own Cobalt SS's, if there are any. I am only going to get the SS, so please tell me what your paying. I hope theres an SS in NJ somewhere.,..

I bought my SS and live in Jersey but I'm a New York resident. I'm paying a lot for insurance.. I have 7 points which are all non-speeding violations but moving violations. Either way insurance charges 10% for each point.

I beleive I'm paying $4,400 a year right now. This should drop off eventually to around $2,200 when the points drop off. The killer is when you get points they fall off your police record after 18 months, but they don't fall off your insurance record until 36 months(that should be illegal). So.. your insurance company will rape you long after your 18 month period.

Just don't speed

If you want to try and lower your premium take the driver safty course. You get a 10% discount with most companies.

NJ is just incredibly high for insurance, it isnt even funny. I cant believe some people are paying $77 dollars a month for insurance. Someone with 2 accidents,5 tickets, lives in nebraska pays as much as I do now, and perfectly clean record. I really dont like nj...

Just this time only I am paying $2200 for 6 months. That's because I have 11 points. When they drop in the next Month I will only have to pay $1400 every 6 months. Sucks doesn't it? Next June I only have to pay $700 every 6 months.

Is the Camaro under your name? If so that's cheap... I pay alot more than that for a 4-door family car. I think it also depends in what area you live in. I noticed that Southern NJ is cheaper insurance

I just got quoted an unbelievably high amount for my SS at my current insurance company AIG here in NJ. I'm currently looking for another company. They want $2500 PER SIX MONTHS! I'm 24.. with only one ticket on record from July of 2002 which drops off next month. Then my record is clean.

What companies are you other NJ guys using? I'm positive I can get a cheaper rate elsewhere.

im in nj Passaic county, i know bergan county has the highest rates.
i pay 3500 a year for 3 cars my ss, a 91 mustang 5.0, and a 97 cavalier full coverage.
the insurance rate should be lower than the camaro i talked to my ins. a while ago i was gonna get a camaro they wanted a hell of alot more so i passed on it. my insurance only went up 10 a month when i traded my 05 corrola for the ss.
try hanover insurance there very cheap but there service isnt to good .

High Point (formly Prudential), decent prices but I didn't care for there claims service people. They weren't on top of things and were letting alot of paperwork slip through unnoticed. I had to check back with them every week for 4 months to make sure they were getting the documents I was sending or the other insurance company was sending. It finally got settled last month, but I felt it could have all been done in 1 or 2 weeks at most
