BLACK AC/Heater Control

You'd be my BFF4L () if you had one of these, or knew of where you could get one of these, and would be willing to sell to me. Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123
I'd prefer just the plate (if possible) instead of the whole set up. I may be wrong, but can't the "face" just be removed? Gawd, I want a black control face soooo effin' bad. Everything in my interior is black/red... except for this POS silver.

EDIT: Reason I'm not wanting to purchase that particular one (or any from Ebay) is because I'm cheap. I don't wanna pay more than $25 for it. Laugh... I don't care.

Well, it was my nickname in high school! Along with many others I knew/memorized that song word-for-word back in the day!

wow is that you on that pole????? lol i was gonna say ebay but it looks like ya found it, here's a pic of my interior all done with the black climate controls... for some reason the new ones didn't work quite right plug and play so I took off the face plates and swapped them, and it works fine now.

Your interior looks awesome! Except one thing: paint your darn window switch trim! That's the only silver you have in there and it'd look awesome black. I hope the piece is plug-n-play. If not, I'll just remove the faceplate and attach it like you did. How hard is that?

...& yeah, that's meh That's my daily exercise.

Yeah I only swapped the faceplates because somethin just didn't seem right with the way the air re-circulation button was working.

It's really easy once you pop off the faceplate surrounding the stereo, it's only held on by four screws. Once you pull it out, remove the two wiring harness clips, and take it out completely and find somewhere flat to set it on. Turn all your knobs to off, then pull out the fan speed knob, don't worry, it comes out. After that you should be able to detatch the face plate, but try to do it fairly slow, so all the little plastic pieces don't fall out. Repeat the process for the other faceplate, then swap and replace the faceplates making sure to re-align everything right, it's not too complicated of an install.

And yes, I know, I've been wanting to get a salvaged set, because the lights don't even work on two of the buttons on the driver's side, and the paint just scratches easily.

All I know is that when I exercise, it, in no way, looks like it could possibly be as fun as hitting 140 mph in 4th gear in the SS...

Did you know you can hit 140 in 4th??? Go baby, go!!!

Put up the windows, it helps a lot!!!

Oh and yours doesn't look bad yourself!!!

LMAO, rap it, white boy!

BTW, 140 is nothing compared to 158mph. I know this because I raced my car @ Talladega International SuperSpeedway.

Nope... completely stock. Scout's honor!

I just wanted to see how far I could push the 'balt. I didn't even find the cut off in 5th gear.

When we go back in the fall, I'll record the speedometer just for proof. I don't wanna be "pic or ban" kinda deal, lol.

hahaha really now? did ya already get submitted to that on the boards? I'll have to search for that thread... lol

personally the hole supporting yourself on a pole ordeal woulda required more proof for me, but since ya got that covered, yeah, just record the speedometer!

"I'm doin a hundred on the highway, so if you're doin the speed limit, get the hell outta my way!!!"
