Cobalt Coupe Third Brake Light

Prefer a ruined or broken one as long as the electrical clip is in tact. I have to cut this up to make an adapter to shut off my check engine light due to me not having a 3rd brake light.

Yes it does. The BCM causes it.

It also disables the cruise

The third brake light itself doesn't have a "connector". The harness plug plugs into two pins that are part of the metals strips that runs all along the fixture to the 3 bulb sockets. You should be able to just put a resistor between the two wires going into the third brake light. I don't see a need for using an actual third brake light fixture for doing that at all.

I used an led strip from a Monte Carlo. It already has built in resistors. I soldered the wires directly to the metal strip of the OE light fixture. That way I still have a factory connector to disconnect if I need to remove the assembly.

This is exactly what I do for my 3rd brake light fixtures
