Exactly. Hell, our whole economy is based on this. You guys think the PS3 at 366X profit is bad? In the example above, Sonic is making 2400X profit. I don't really get why some of you are upset.

If he wasn't a member of this site, would you still flame??

mkulrey13 knows there is a demand for them so he jumped on it..... It doesnt seem fare, but its life, if people want to spend 3+G for a gaming console they can go right ahead..

and i know he will sell everyone of those PS3, mabye not all on here but people want them and people will pay...

he is a good businessman

if Sony would have just released more then 200,000 copies to north america then there would not be this problem, they do it on purpose to hype up their system.....

Hmmm... I'm watching these go on ebay for $1100 or less for the 20GB version, and $1300 or less for the 60GB version.

Anyway, back when PS2 came out, my Dad and I each bought one. Instead of selling the second one for a crazy profit, we gave it to my Aunt to give to my cousins for Christmas that year since my Uncle had suddenly passed away just 2 months prior. Sure, we could've made a huge profit jacking it up on ebay... but we took what I consider the better road and helped out some people close to us. So because of us, someone else could get their hands on a PS2 for normal price.

But do what you will. Some people call it capitalism and business. I call it greed. I can say this with an outside perspective since I'm not fan of the PS3. Even if I were to ever consider one, I'd wait till I didn't have to pay a ridiculous mark up because of people that have nothing better to do than wait in line for over a day.

So, if someone were to buy up all your drinks, then stand there and sell them for 6.00 a piece, that would be OK? I'm sure that Sony made those things for a small fraction of what they are charging the stores for it, then the store has to mark it up to make a bit of profit. Then a consumer can sell it for what he wants or what he can get for it. In a previous post I mentioned a news story where one sold for $30,000. That is just insane! That buyer needs to get laid man! It's just crazy to me, but hey, to each there own.

You guys need to chill out, dont hate on MK.. bc everyone of you would sell them on Ebay for 3,000 + if you could. I know i would. and if thats wrong i dont want to be right. And if oyu wanna know something jacked up i say a picture of celebs in new york city carrying 3 and 4 bags of PS3s. I think its more jacked up that they not only didnt wait in lines to buy or were limited to how many they could get.

take a look at the hundreds of PAGES of ps3's for 99cents. now look at the small amounth that have sold for crazy amounts......

anyone else notice the problem here?

Its called Fake Ebay Inflation.
and everyone with dollar signs in their eyes is falling for it.

cuz everyone knows its a good idea to pay $15000 for a system when the auction 1 page over has a BUY NOW price of $2000
or the 3000 other auctions have a bid of 99cents.....

Welcome to Ebay Scamming 101.

ditto, and another note, just because it says someone won the auction for X amount does not mean they actually paid for it... ever heard of a bad buyer?

I'll wait 3 weeks for the next shippment to come in and get one for $500. $2200 for a system that might go at the highest $1000 is just redonkulous.

Exactly!

I don't understand the "need" to buy a video game system for $3000. That's absurd. $600 is too much for it, IMO.

To be honest i dont give a damn what you do with it once you buy it... if you buy i get paid so im happy... lol infact we are pretty close to a high school stadium so some lady would always get like 15 burgers to sell when there were football games going on.

BTW i herd sony really lost some money selling at msrp (not sure on how true that is thou)

Console producers loose money on each system they sell. But they get the money back by selling games and accesorys

Yeah..sorry guys...I was a wee bit intoxied last night....just wearing my heart on my sleeve because some people probably promised their kids one for Christmas and can't afford 2200 for one! oh well though...to each their own and good luck with the sales...all I can say is who ever pays that much and can't buy a 2 year replacement plan...haha..suckas!!! That is awesome profit and one last thing to say....ALICE IN CHAINS last night kicked major @$$ and they even brought Jerry Cantrell's dad on stage and sang happy birthday to him before Jerry Sr. gave a speech....NUFF SAID!

I really don't care about the whole thing to tell you the truth. It's about principle though. I bet that lady sold burgers at price or maybe just rounded up to the nearest dollar. I do think it is amazing what some people will pay for something new that's in high demand though. Is it right or wrong? I guess if a buyer is willing to pay for something at any cost, and both parties agree, it's all good. Personally, I wouldn't do it, buy or sell. On second thought. I would pay double or triple for some Sonic food or In-N-Out since it is not available here. But that would be less than $20. I lived in Japan for 3 years and everytime I ate at Wendy's it cost like triple what it would here.

I'm going to see them here in Seattle on the 24th! My sisters friend went out with Layne back in the day. I still have a Lalapalooza 93 shirt signed by him. Too bad he is gone!

OK I'm going to set aside the fact that I also disagree with buying seven to sell on ebay to say this:

For the $600 the PS3 is an EXCELLENT value -- if you want to have a Blu-Ray Player or watch Blu-Ray movies. The next closest Blu-Ray player in price is the Samsung BDP-1000 for $800. And that's just a player. The PS3 player actually looks better than the Samsung Player in comparrison tests because the Samsung has Noise Distortion turned on automatically from the factory and it cannot be shut off. I think this was fixed with a firmware update, but either way, your getting a Blu-Ray Player for $600. The PS3 also uses the HDMI 1.3 standard, which the Samsung does not.

I have a 1080P TV that can take full advantage of the PS3 Blu-Ray player, so I would gladly purchase one. If, on the other hand, you don't have a high definition television, then yes, you might say the PS3 is not worth the price, otherwise it most certainly is.
