Question GM Performnce Parts

Has anybody considered or has installed and/or like or dislike the GM performance parts for the 2.2L? If I dont use these parts will I void my warranty? I am just curious about the performance gain using GM parts at higher prices then using the aftermarket parts at their prices. The only parts they have out for the 08 2.2L is the CAI, exaust man, and exaust system. Any feed back would be helpful for my decision on using GM parts or aftermarket parts.

They're usually more expensive, and you have a less chance of the stealership giving you **** when something goes wrong. Although if you use non GM aftermarket parts they have to prove that it was that part that caused the issue, if you are clueless on how to determine if something caused something to fail to help defend yourself. I'd 1. Use the GM parts, or 2. Stay away from all of it.

PS. Youre only about 2 and half hrs from me :P

Well that seems to break it down. I suppose the GM parts are also covered under the warranty. The CAI by GM cost 325 dollars. But the damn thing is made by K&N according to the sells guy at the dealership. He also says it could give an additional 15hp. I also am familiar with the frowns from the dealership when they see aftermarket parts on the engine when you take it in to them. They say "I dont know what the problem is, could it be that".

You won't get 15hp from an intake. Besides, the GM intake is just a short ram intake, not a cold air intake. I like the GM exhaust, but nothing else.

I appreciate the feed back guys. I am thinking about going with the Injen CAI. I have heard alot of good things about them and my brother has one on is 97 Prelude Type S. Can somebody give pointers on the install or is it straight forward.

Its straight forward, and it should come with directions. You probably could do the install without them though.

Easy as hell, top center pops right off and the intake plastic has one hose clamp.

For sure, just don't tighten all the hose clamps on the new intake before you have it all in place and adjusted, I also got some rubber trim protector cause the intake rubs the engine a little and part of the frame and I didn't want it rubbing thru. Post some pics when your done and let us know how it went.
