LNF engine - Would not start - replaced it with an LDK - $500
Selling a LNF engine. It is out of a HHR with an automatic transmission. Had 138k miles on it when pulled.
Vehicle quit on my wife while driving and was giving a code for the crank position sensor. It had compression so I pulled the front cover. The timing was still on but the fixed timinig chain guide was broke. When draining the oil there was coolant in the oil. I pulled the head and replaced the head gasket, water pump, timing chain tensioner, timing chain, balance chain, timing guides, balance guides, front cover gasket, spark plugs, and crank position sensor.. I also droped the oil pan and cleaned it out. After bolting in all back together, it still would start and still gave the code for crank postion sensor. I thought maybe the ECM was bad so I towed it to a Chevy dealer. They tried a new ECM and other things and could not get the engine to fire. I think there is probably play in the crank shaft or damage to the reculator ring that is causing the crank shaft position code. I don't have any need or desire to rebuild it so someone else could or pull it apart and use any parts.
I decided to replace the motor with a new LDK from ZZP instead of throwing more parts at it.
no turbo, intake, exhaust included what you see in the pictures is what you have
Engine is located in Baldwin, WI 54002 - 30 miles east of St. Paul, MN
So here is the engine.
