how many miles are on the 2.6?

 

to be honest im not sure. it came with the blower i bought off italianjoe i believe he said it was used for about 5k before it was taken off and the blower was rebuilt

 

so you've never had it installed on your blower before

 

it was installed on the blower i bought when i got it but i didnt wanna run that small of a pulley so i took it off and and put on a 2.8 so its been on the blower just not my car

yes , you are going to blow your Shi*T up,
just get a gm stage 2 in classifieds for cheap.
to run a 2.6 you need al least 60lb/hr injectors , front mount heat exchanger, dual pass end plate, extensive exhaust mods like header downpipe, and a tune of course.

 

Would the gm stage 2 tune be enough? Or would I have to look into trifecta, etc

 

For a 2.6, GM stage 2 tune will NOT be enough lol

Like creepySS said, you WILL need 60# injectors, highly recommended you have a full exhaust, and some sort of cooling mod(s) and a tune to safely run a 2.6.

Even then, Eaton doesnt recommend going below a 2.8; 2.7, 2.6 and 2.5 are out of the blowers efficiency range and essentially overspin the blower; reduces the life of the M62, alot of people just say **** it and do it anyway though

You will pick up some power and a good amount of low/mid range torque with a 2.6 though lol

Noob questions arent stupid questions, we all have to learn somehow and at somepoint lol

And youre out in Kansas...you could try and contact Area47 and possibly drive a few hours for a great tune lol
