Saab turbo for ecotec.
Saab turbo for ecotec.
I have a turbo I bought off of ebay a year ago. It was from a 2004 9-3 with low miles.
This turbo/manifold will fit onto the ecotec head. I was going to turbocharge my 2.2 base, but I changed my mind. Pics are in my gallery.
Asking $450 shipped.
Price reduced to $350 shipped. Anyone??

that manifold wont fit on the 2.2 cobalt head. It will bolt up but will leak like crazy. The pic below explains why

as you can see, the number one cylinder has an extended port. and the saab manifold does not. Unless the Saab manifold just covers this and still works normaly, then this is out of the question

See the difference?
yea....i wonder if the head on the 2.0t is diffrent. and in that case maybe it's better. but im also assuming that is has a cam sensor so it wont work for the 2.2 but maybe the 2.0SC guys can us it?
As far as bolt pattern, no it's the same...I even know a couple people who went that route with that manifold and turbo and it fits perfectly fine. Thats the part that is wierd.
its not hard to change a flange... what benifitis does a oval flange offer? The ideal install is no flange at all but i don't see the fault with using a triagular flange
You need a flange that is the same flange style of the turbocharger you're using, otherwise you can't bolt the turbocharger to it. That's all a flange is for. No particular benefit over one flange style from another, it's just for fitment purposes.
