And I did call your post office. Here is what they said;
"Yes sir, by law we are required to provide all of our customers a receipt, but the customer may opt to not accept the receipt."
Can receipts be used to track whether or not a shipment exists to a specific address?
"Yes, often if a package has been lost, whom ever shipped the item can use the receipt to track a shipped item. Tracking numbers are for customers usually, and we use order numbers, tracking numbers, addresses, shipper and receiver names, and sometimes credit card numbers to track a package."
Hm. Just like every single business in the history of credit cards and what not, receipts are, by law, required. Just sayin'.

I don't know then because i've literally never got a receipt there. its a small town, everybody knows everybody, so all the little stores and stuff never give reciepts because they just remember I guess.

Regardless, if you really do work to figure it out for him, then I will retract any and all of my statements. I'll physically go through and delete them, assuming you really do help him figure it out.
I did pretty it up, I'll admit. But by law, places are typically required to provide receipts, or they can get in serious trouble.
