WTB Factory SS radio w/ Ipod Hookup

Like the title states, i'm looking for the hu from an ss that has the ipod hookup. i don't wanna go out and spend $$$ to buy a headunit just so i can listen to my ipod through it, and these hu's are nice imo. not looking to spend too much here.

And to think your name says your a car audio guro?? Quit Misinforming people if you don't know what your talking about.

It's been done before. The majority of the wiring has to be swapped around to get the correct pin-out for the radio though. Plus since our radios are equipt with theftlock, you have to take them to the dealer to have them unlock and reflash to the 07 radio settings.

I would check out LKQonline. They usually have a few. You won't find one cheaper than like $60 though.

Silver

and

Black.

LKQ also usually ships information such as the VIN# the car came out of and proof that it wasn't stolen. That way the dealership is reassured that your not a theif and would be more willing to help you.

yes its been done by one person and some of the functions were lost. oh and he knew someone that worked at gm and had extensive knowledge of the tech 2 software... even then it took quite a while and barely worked.

So if you feel like buying the 07 hu and think it would be fun trying to find a dealership that is going to go thru hell in back just so you can get an ipod setup then go for it. I wish you luck because i know the dealerships here honestly dont give a damn.

seems like a waste of $$ why not just buy an FM transmitter?

My point is instead of telling them straight up it doesn't work, tell them what you just said here. Yea it will work, but for the time and money... just buy an aftermarket IPod Fm transmittor or something. Don't lie to their face and act all glorified.

/rant

I wish the best of luck to you. It's been done, but like emperor stated, it wasn't easy

i have an fm transmitter, but it's absolutely terrible. i was told that if you have a direct hook up through the radio, you get better sound quality, which is what i'm looking for. thanks again for help.

Actually it is not a waist of money to me as I don't have the iPod aux plug in. I also run my Surrius sat radio though the aux. By the way a FM transmitter does not have the quality that a direct integration digital does. This is not a transmitter but a direct connect.

but do what ever you want it was just another route people can go.
