ZZP and OTTP I want this CAI can you do it?

This is just a shout out to any vendors up to it. I mainly wanted to alert ZZP and OTTP because I have always delt with them and they are good guys.

I wanted to know if it would be possible for you guys to fab me a normal Stainless Cold air intake like this one:

http://www.sevendeals.com/p-4403-che...ood-21013.aspx

There has got to be a way you guys can sell me an identical version of this but with better piping (instead of plastic) and for much less. Seriously $378 for that????? Really????

What do you guys think? Anyone up to the challange? I would definatley be down to buy.

you would need to delete your resevoir tank, and run something simular to that of what the HHR runs, and it should be posible, and for such a simple pipe, you can most likely do it spectra piping and their MAF pipe...but than you have to worry about ******* up w/e tune you are running with the MAF being located so much close to the blower, their being less bends, less distance for the air to travel from when the MAF picks it up to when it enters the combustion chamber...

Would it be possible just to relocate it to the other strut tower? There has to be a way I can just secure it there and maybe just extend the hose.

Vendors what do you think on fabing this?

Just relocated it where Stu has his tank. Right where the Option B tank would typically fit.

Fiar enough but would it be possible to make this CAI?

I agree that I can relocate the tank. Now thats not the problem, so lets let that go now.

The question is, is there a supporting vendor that can fab me a functional stainless steal CAI identical to this one that would be effective and work.

Very interested to know why you want this also. Never seen a short ram on a ss s/c.

Well it would make sence if I were to get the corresponding Suncoast Ram air hood. This is kind where I am going with this.

However how detrimental would relocating the CAI to inside the engine bay be to the cars performance? Do you think there would be a significant difference? Pros/cons?

Are you still running the M62? If so, what pulley size and what/any cooling mods? That M62 gets ridiculously hot and you'd just be shoving hot air into the intake which would kill the cars performance. Personally, I have a 2.8 with no cooling mods yet and my cabin gets tons of heat if I ever do a pull. Which is why until I can scoop up a H/E or something I don't really have much fun time in the car.

I'm actually running a TVS on a 2.9 pulley with all the cooling mods including meth (tapped in a throttle body spacer 90/10).

so you want to suck air in the intake that is coming through a ram air slot on the hood that is blowing over top of the engine and supercharger first?

the only thing that makes sense, is that it would be easier to clean the filter, other than that, this thing is a complete waste of money

You'd be better off than someone with an M62 but I still think the air's gonna be heated up by the time it gets to the intake
