where r u guys getting 104 traps? the quickest i have ever seen was when it ran a 13.7 from motortrend and that was a 102 trap. the mustang gets excellent traction off the line but really isnt the fastest car from a roll. the tc has trapped 104 and i have proof of that.

another thing is you shouldnt go with motortrends 13.7 time anyway because that was a tester tweaked by ford and if u notice, other tester companies dont even really come close to that time. if u look around in the mustang forums, you will see countless threads of them wondering why they cant even get theyre stangs in the 13s at all. most ppl run around low-mid 14s when they go. i wonder why?

you're kind of contradicting yourself there... you say it will beat an sc in the 1/4. but then you say, "other tester companies dont even really come close to that time(13.7). if u look around in the mustang forums, you will see countless threads of them wondering why they cant even get theyre stangs in the 13s at all. most ppl run around low-mid 14s when they go.". most cobalts are running sub 14.4's stock when they go to the track. with me, and quite a few others running 14.2's stock. 14.2<mid14.

not contradicting myself at all.

the FASTEST cobalt ss/scs run low 14s. the mags test like 14.6. u took out ur rear seat and passenger seat when u ran a 14.2, u even said it in another thread i just read. the average time the v6s are running are about 14.2, the average time for the sc on our forum isnt even close to that. it will be a good race from a roll but the stang should win in the 1/4 when both have competent drivers

wasn't aware removing weight counted as nonstock power. any smart person will lighten their car when going to the track.

08ShowbaltLS 08-01-2010 05:39 PM

removing seats from your car is kinda lame especially if its stock. what r u trying to prove? that u can shave a tenth off ur time by making ur car a useless one-seater? i go to the track all the time around here and very very few people remove the passenger and rear seats out of their car. the few that do tend to be ricey civics that never run better than 13s. i guess everyone is dumb for running their car the way it came from the factory  i hope you're not on that list in the quarter mile thread...

EXsoccer1921 08-01-2010 08:24 PM

what am i trying to prove? nothing, just trying to get the best time out of my car on stock suspension/clutch/streettires/stockpower.

hope i'm not on what list?

yeah i'm not sure where he decided to make this arguement directed towards me lol. all i said was is that i can see an sc staying even and in some cases probably beating a new v6 in the quater based on people stock times.

08ShowbaltLS 08-02-2010 02:58 PM

im not directing anything at you man, u were the first to comment on my post saying i was "contradicting myself" and i wasnt. a 2011 mustang v6 will beat a cobalt ss/sc down the quarter mile unless the mustang driver sucks, plain and simple. oh and i was talking about the "OFFICIAL 1/4 and 1/8 mile thread" and i was hoping you werent on the LSJ, THE WAY IT IS FROM THE FACTORY list but you're not. done arguing...
