I tried to look at my bumper but my hand doesnt fit behind the bumper to feel it bcus of my heat exchanger. And F1 is just starting so I don't have time to back the car out of my garage and jack it up so I can fit my head under the car to look.
Molding sounds like the most probable reason.

i do have the right clips, "lower grille retainor nut" is what they call them. i have 6 of them. they look like these: Cobalt 2008 2009 SS Lower Grille Retainor Clip 11588921 - Crate Engine Depot
Though I don't see what this has to do with anything.

The lips are easy if you've ever taken your bumpers off, or have ever used a dremel. I'd used a dremel one or twice for maybe 30 seconds, and not with the cutting tool. Whole bunch of 10 and 7 mm screws, and annoying push pins. You should take a flashlight and take a pic of your rear lip, I'm curious to see how they attached it.

Yeah. It's just bolts and pins. But some of those pins are in there so tight the first time (that's what she said) it took me a while to get them out without breaking them. Still, it takes a while take it off, cut all the slits in it, force the lip on there, put it back on, and adjust.

Meh. They weren't my first choice. But they're polished, which I like... and the price was good. I have some buddies who do not hesitate to tell me when something on the car is ugly, and everyone likes them so far. Knock on wood.

Everything looks great, well done sir. The wheels work, it may have something to do with the color of the car but it all fits. There are now two 2.4's with those wheels. The other one is red and has chrome accents which seem to make the wheels work as well. Now you have finally conquered wheel gap, congratulations!
