Cobalt Smashed

found this pic on a local newspaper website

A young driver, possibly 19 or 20, was severely injured and listed with life threatening injuries after the driver lost control of this car, and slammed into a tree at a high rate of speed in front of 11 East Bartlett Road in Middle Island around 4:45 a.m.

At least they're alive. Wonder how exactly they lost control since I don't even see a road in that pic.

And thats a G5 see how theres no cross bar in the grille and you can see where the taillight is missing

That is a pretty tough car. A side hit like that would have crumpled my TJ like a beer can.

oh yeah thats right...You could see the two pieces of the grill in the grass right in front of the car too. i pretty much just assumed it was a cobalt because i rarely ever see G5's around where i live(that crash was about 10 mins away from me)

There is a road right behind him. look to the right of the drivers door, you can see the road

If thats really the road *behind* them, thats a pretty tiny road to be doing any sort of speeding on. Scary.

the question as to how this happened is basically answered....19-20yo out at 445am....ummmmmmm....ill make bets coming from some SORT of party...there is a chance however said person was heading to work...but being from LI and knowing people in that age group, i doubt they were heading to work
