CobaltSS 16 TVS Build Thread
Well the cobalt has officially been gone as of last Thursday.
Sad to see I never got the TVS on. I'll definitely miss the car. Basically parted the whole car out in 2-3 weeks (what a pain in the ass) minus the full exhaust I kept on, heat exchanger/opt b/dual pass, in dash nav, and sport line springs. Last trip I made all the way down to Virginia (from NJ) and it didn't have one hiccup... And I averaged 30 mpg.
The new car doesn't disappoint though.
I'll still be hanging around here. Got a few local friends with Balts so I'm sure I'll see them a bunch.

BMW 335i M Sport 6 speed in Estoril blue. Car is super rare fully loaded with the 6 speed. I was searching for a while and when the exact one I wanted popped up I had to jump on it and pull the trigger.
It has some really cool features like heads up display (navigation and speed Pop up on your windshield), technology package that I can basically check anything on the in dash computer like tire pressure, oil changes, etc. it also has the m sport package which has the M kit, different steering wheel/dash, wheels, and suspension. This color is only available with the m sport. It has different settings (economy, comfort, and sport)... When I put the car in sport mode the whole suspension and chassis tighten up electronically and throttle response is increased.
Its pretty quick as well. First trip home I got it up to 150+ twice and it was extremely solid at those speeds. Launching the thing (haven't launched it hard yet it's my baby lol) the thing just pulls you back and grabs. Not used to that as I would spin through 2nd with the Balt (and I had the driver mod :p ) ... I have 255s in the back so that may help. The fit and finish in the car is spectacular... One of the reasons I was attracted to it.
Overall I always said my next car would be German, Rwd/awd, 6 speed, sporty, and somewhat prestigious... I feel like this ties everything I wanted together. It really is an awesome car.

Update
Hey guys.... just figured I'd give an update to anyone who was following my thread.
I've seen recently some of my favorite cobalts depart ways (cough cough staged and rice) and a few others still on here (I hope you guys stay for a while) I figured it would be nice to update after reading stages thread.
LOL
After some more seat time with the car... i am happy to say it was still one of the best cars I could have picked up for me personally that suited my needs. I was looking for something RWD, more prestigious and 4 door, but still wanted a sporty/drivers car.
I went in purchasing the car saying I didn't want to do much and keep it how it is, but the mod bug bit me hard and I'm now basically full bolt ons and tuned a few months later
.... I can run a few different maps on my tuning software. I run low boost for daily driving, but over the past month I am running the race map (high octane)... it targets 18.5 psi but ill spike 21-22 psi. I run flex fuel wires and run an e30-40 mix. Everything is controlled through my iPhone (including logging, map changing, boost limiting, etc.) Its quite fun as it sits. Like an LNF, these cars response amazing to a tune/more boost.
I plan to throw it on the dyno end of this month... i am aiming for 400whp, 450wtrq
Aesthetically the car looks great from the factory so I don't plan to change a ton to the exterior. I added the M Performance lip kit and rear diffuser from BMW and color matched it (estoril blue and gloss black) as well as added color matched front and rear reflectors. The side bulbs are clear instead of orange (don't like the fried egg look.)
Since I don't like to bullshit... There is a few things that I do not like, but thankfully these are things I can change or avoid. I will go into detail below.
1. There are three different modes on the car... comfort, sport and sport + (turns off traction control) In comfort mode the pedal sensitivity is turned down and suspension softens up. I hate that. Good thing i drive in sport + 99% of the time
2. I hate the stock run flat tires. I will be changing them out next month when I get my new wheels/tires in.
3. Car is super smooth and stable at high speeds... but its way to "floaty." I thought it could be the fact that my cobalt had coil overs and I wasn't used to the floaty suspension, but apparently a ton of guys complain about this over on the bimmer boards. A little disappointing to me considering I have the m sport model... but I guess they also tailor to the general public. I plan to get KW coilovers that will fix the problem.
As weird as it sounds, the car is almost too quiet and smooth... has so much electrical and automatic **** I think the car could drive it self sometimes.
I'm so happy I got the 6 speed.
Exhaust is toxifying (in a good way) I just got a full turbo back exhaust and its just unbelievable. It sounds similar to a porsche gt3. Tons of pops and burbles on downshifts. It's raw and deep. I run a full turbo back exhaust (wagner downpipe, awe tuning exhaust with performance midpipe)
Future plans include new wheel/tire setup and coilovers. I currently am having some custom 19" wheels made up for it (lightweight, forged and staggered fitment.) Fronts are 19x9" and Rears will be 10" wide. Can't wait to throw them on. They are being done in a hand brushed finish
Enough of me talking... I posted some pics and videos of it.

For now!!
The low end torque of my GS is wonderful, but where the GS's fun ends my LSJ shined
GS is outta steam after 6k.
Stock 2012-2013 GS's put down around 230whp & 265wtq. That's a about a 25wtq difference from my LSJ.
