CobaltSS 16 TVS Build Thread

Pleased with how the balt has come along. Unexpectedly got a nice surprise this week... aka a whole new interior.
Picked up LNF seats. I was somewhat planning on getting sparco race seats over the winter or next spring... but of course then I would have needed to get the brackets, etc. and fit and finish may have not been OEM quality, which is what I like to strive for, so I was hesitant to do it.... now I no longer need too.
I grabbed the front and rears.... honestly I absolutely love them. brings the whole interior together. I originally preferred to get all blacks, but didn't have a choice at this point (friend of mine was trading in his LNF the next day so we swapped the whole interior at like 3 AM in the morning in the dark lol) Now the black/red has really grown on me and I actually may prefer them to the all blacks (maybe I'm biased now) as they make the interior pop more and it matches all my other red accessories throughout the car. They're good stuff. Seats are getting a good cleaning this week.
I did not grab the red door panels as they are a bit too flashy for me and too much red IMO. My original all blacks still flow awesome with the rest of the interior. Happy i decided to stick with them.
Picked up a BPS short shifter w/ weighted shift knob. Pleased with it as well. Here some pics.
front seats
interior shot
rear seats
bps shifter
this is how my switches are mounted for my halos and demon eyes (looks kinda OEMish lol)
cleaned the car - damn I may want some window tint looking at this lol

Thats what i interpreted lmfao
In the cobalt world:
I pull about 1-2 cars on an hptuned tuned LNF (think he was running an aftermarket intake as well)
I am dead even with a more aggressively tuned LNF - fully bolted, catless and hptuned LNF running 23-24 PSI.
I'd like to run a pump gas TVS LSJ. I think that would be a good match.
My last tune revision is a bit more aggressive now. Running 27 degrees timing peak with 12.2-12.4 AFR WOT on E85. I suspect I'm around 295-300whp... plan to dyno in the fall.

better get on the dyno sooner than later ... all my N***as be lean as Fack !
thats a little too lean my friend. And 1* of timing too much can loose power there is a fine line between good and bad.
Its better to play with that nonsense on the rollers so you can see what is going on.
Im guna have to talk with that fool from CT who tunes you

Its not that lean for e85. Remember the conversion from e85 in regards to afr... e85 can be run leaner then pump gas.
Read up on this dyno comparison... This is on a M62. Numbers don't lie pumpkin

And i really don't feel the need to defend him... the man really knows his ****. Don't make me pull up the numbers from our dyno day :cough: :cough:

im not saying it wont work or be beneficial ... im saying that you cant just take someone elses #'s and copy and paste it on your car and expect the same results ... pumpkin
there are way tooo many factors to take into consideration. IF you were on a dyno, like meth was, playing around to see what works best that is one thing but to go ahead and tune it to the limits on the street and hope for the best is not the best way of approaching it.

Your right. But you think I printed that out and showed him that sheet and said mirror that? He has no clue about that comparison or any other peoples tune on here. He tuned me from the bare bones and has tweaked it quite a few times. And I'm not just making numbers up?? I've dynoed quite a few times so I have an idea what my car likes/response to. Last dyno I made 288whp running a bit rich (and yes SAME amount of timing) so he changed a few minor things and leaned it up a bit up top. I don't think I'm being over realistic with my power numbers.
For some reason my car/setup loves a bunch of timing. About 2 years ago we had a dyno day and two other lsjs with the same setup as me were there. They would knock when pushed so timing was backed out. I remember speaking to them and i was about 2 degrees higher then both of them (all three of us were on 60s, 2.7-2.8, pump gas). Just food for thought.
Only reason I brought the link up was to show actual factual data. SSfamilywagen dynoed his TVS with similar results. He ran quite a bit leaner @ 12.7-13.0 lol. And the tune he stuck with was mid 12s... I believe he said he was on that tune for quite a while too with no problems (this was from Dec. 2013.) I can link that thread too.

Just keep an eye out for KR. I keep my warning lights on my interceptor set for KR. If those little red lights were ever to light up, off the throttle I go.
