My brother bought an '89 crx as a project car. We've been coming right along with it all winter. Got a D16 single slammer vtec swap, did bodywork and repainted it, and just finishing up the turbo setup. I'll see if I can post a few pics.
Edit: A few pics of him doing the bodywork (dremel ftw) and of course the TurboXS RFL we put on. They are definetly cheap fun cars that will take a beating.

I hate to say this, but you'll be spending around that much to get your CRX in the 13's too.

I bet I can do it with under 2Gs

After the piston swap I should be well into the 14s

With a good pair of DRs and i should be able to hit 13's if I don't snap the axles.

Update: I cleaned the IACV, but she still has a weird idle. I'm going to adjust the FITV tomorrow

Yeah, my cobalt is defintely slow. She'll never be fast, but she shouldnt be jealous because I'll always drive her everday. And she is still the loudest (system) car in my town.

I might stay N/A depending on how my new pistons do. If I put down good numbers with my 11.8:1 pistons, I'll try for all motor.

I think she'll be jealous. Its like the girlfriend who reluctantly agrees to polygamy. She'll be all resentful now, better watch out.

Believe me, its nothing against you at all. I just know of so many people who spent near 10k on an NA crx and it only ran a high 13.

If you do this under 2gs then you will totally suprise me.

Remember... nothing against you personally. Good luck with it!

It's already got alot of work done to it. I'm not starting over with a stock CRX, I'm starting out with a hybrid.

I could take that CRX and make it hit 13's with less than 2'gs and those new pistons. Reliability? Maybe not.. But for that one blast of 100 shot, it would sure as hell make 13's
