Hearst Castle Revisited

it was my fiance's and i 5 year anniversary on 5/13 so we decided to go out of town since we love to travel. we decided to to on a day trip to Hearst Castle and enjoy the scenery. last time we went was almost 2 years ago and you can see the pics i took then in this thread. we went on tour 1 the first time so we decided to take tour 2 this time which is the garden tour. here are some exposures i took while on the tour. i couldn't really walk around the place looking for shots to take so i had to work w/ what i had. camera used was my canon 30D and kept switching between 3 lenses. (1) Canon 50mm 1.4 aka "nifty fifty", (2) Canon 10-22mm and (3) Canon 24-105L. let me know what you think and please feel free to give out any constructive criticism on my pics. enjoy.

1. this was taken on our way to the place.

2. waiting in the visitors center waiting for our tour.

3. couldn't face the front of the statue so i took a pic from behind.

4. another random statue.

5. random shot i took.

6. this is actually only one of the guest rooms believe it or not.

7. shot of the tennis courts.

8. one of the many interesting flower plants in the gardens.

9. just a shot of a rose.

10. random shot my fiance took.

11. just another rose shot.

12. candid shot of my fiance smelling a rose.

13. b&w w/ color pic.

14. another rose shot.

15. random statue shot.

great quality pictures. my only complaint is that in some of them the main object is dead center and it doesnt appear to be for effect. 2/3's rule on some of these would make them better. (i.e. #4 and #13, especially)

...care to put your money where your mouth is?

I've seen your pictures, and haven't been impressed with anything. And, I know for a fact DC didn't use any polarizers or any other filters for that matter, it's called knowing how to use your camera.
