I hate people
But but, I just saw that the elderly accident rates are going down according to the news
My J body was totaled by an old man who wasn't paying attention. Nailed my passenger quarter panel. Sub frame shifted so far, I had to kick the door open. His wife's response: we didn't see you. You didn't have your headlights on. 7:30pm in mid January in central Pa, you're stupid if you don't have them on. Witnesses said otherwise to her claim.
I completely agree, really anything over 65 should be retested but that would also require extra money spend to have them be tested, current system just doesn't have the capacity.
Also screws the system cause I'm certain if they made it harder to acquire a lisence, it'd screw the auto manufacturer, insurance, government etc. out of revenue and we can't have that.
Geez. Hope it gets repaired and not written off. I haven't had an accident in about 8 years but have had a couple close calls where the other driver was elderly. I'd like to see some sort of legislation where they are tested more at a certain age but no politician is ever going to enact legislation that may end up putting them out of a job since most old folks vote.
Doesnt look like there is any structural damage from the pictures, is there any buckling in the a pillars or on the roof? Totaling it out doesnt seem likely but with the way the value is on cobalt's lately, if ones in the best of condition aint fetching too much for insurance.
