Shame you gotta run a front plate

right you are. i was considering mounting the plate directly to the bumper (no plate bracket) and bending the bottom under the opening, but you can get a ticket then for modifying the plate. it cant be in the window, they can write you multiple tickets for that. in the end i just stuck it in the plate bracket, not worth the potential hassle.
part of what im trying to do is get the car a little less noticed, the cops here are going insane on modded cars of late, issuing vehicle inspection orders for anything they feel is wrong. the problem is the cops dont even know the laws and issue inspections for things that arent an issue, such as the car not having 1" of gap from the tire to the fender, thats not even a thing in the inspection books. if they view the exhaust too loud, despite the fact it might be stock, they send you for inspection. worst part is you can have the car inspected and pass, and 2 hours later get pulled over and given another vehicle inspection order, and there is no recourse. so what im going for is to make the car blend in a little better without going totally stock. i already changed out the 6000k bulbs to some 4300k bulbs in my projectors, im going to be getting a set of yyz springs to replace my sagged out pedders and bring the car up a bit, planning to replace the muffler (now 8 or 9 year old magnaflow) with a new one, along with a smaller exhaust tip. and not having pealing paint goes a long way. in the end, this is my daily driver and i dont need to get hassled.

we have a little different situation going on. the alleged thing thats gone on in vancouver bc is that a kid with a janky rusted out stanced 240 got pulled over and given an inspection order, and he thought it was unjust so started blasting the cop on social media. this resulted in people harassing the cop personally, people sending death threats, typical social media hate. this officer happens to be the one that runs a substantial group of officers in vancouver, so their revenge is to go nuts on the car community. numerous people have been saying they have been told by officers "you can thank the kid with the red nissan for this" when being handed their inspection orders. i dont doubt this being the case. the crappy part is perfectly legal and even dead stock cars are being given inspection orders and if you file a complaint you get told to pass the inspection first, and once you do they tell you to pound sand. its been going on for close to a year now and people who have had multiple inspection orders are starting to band together, but its doubtful anything is gonna change.

apparently i cant have nice things
got trapped behind a semi and 2 gravel trucks taking up all 3 lanes on the freeway yesterday. kept my distance, but **** falling off one of the gravel trucks ended up launching through the air and went skidding across my roof. its actually worse than it looks in the pics, its right down to the sealer in a couple places.

still havent really had time to properly clean my interior since painting it, but i did make some improvements. i decided to replace my 4 spoke steering wheel with the 07+ wheel, and after i did that i ended up ordering something even better.
thats a 2012 centennial corvette steering wheel, suede with red stitching. its also possibly the last new one from gm, the shop i bought it from initially said all the suede centennial wheels are on back order and likely will just be discontinued, but after some searching he found what appeared to be the last one. after it was shipped to me i sent him an email telling him how great its gonna look on my cobalt lol. it was pretty close to a direct swap, just swap the 07+ cobalt wiring and switches over to it, and either you have to cut a hold for the cruise on/off button in the trim, or pop the button off and leave the cruise on permanently. as you can see, i chose the latter. it feels so much better than the stock cobalt wheel, and im so glad to be rid of the 4 spoke wheel, that thing felt terrible in comparison. honestly, its like driving a whole different car.
oh also you can see my painted dash trims.
