Around here wal-mart has a 20ft roll for $20. Try any hardware store too.

well i picked up 8 squares of 1and 1/2 inch by 3 inch industrial strength velcro and used to to hold down my box, it says to give it 24 hours for the adhesive to set so i will know how well it works when i check it after i get to work tomorrow.... thanks for the advice everyone.

just so people dont think bad about the people that installed it, when i called them yesterday the manager at mickey shorr was fairly pissed that the installer did not fasten the box down and told me to come up and he would use straps or something on it, but it was kinda a long trip for me so i decided to just fix it myself.

vibrations and electornics designed to be mounted on a solid surface.

constant vibrations. IE low frequency from sub woofers. expansion of the enclosure.

in short. vibration on sensative electronics = bad

hmmm, that makes sense but this shop was pretty professional, plus i have seen ALOT of amps mounted on the sub, is it really that common of a mistake?

Yeah.. I have mine mounted to the back of the seat on the passenger side. You should just be able to swing it around and mount it to the back of the seat.

You do want your amp mounted, just not to your subwoofer enclosure.

Also, I used velcro on the bottom of my box to keep it from sliding as well. It works great!

it's not about watts. thats a moot point. it's about the vibrations

i know but my system is so low powered compared to most peoples that the vibrations arent that big of a deal.

let me look up the exact terms they put it in, one sec.

from what i understand they were saying that the vibrations from it being mounted on the box is not much greater from it being mounted near it.

thank you! there is some debate about if they should have mounted the amp on the box but i do have to say they did a very good job on the wiring harness.
