Thumbs up LV Dyno-Tune 14 Oct 06 - M88ArRamadi----no 56k

Finally I gave in and got a Dyno-Tune

Video of M88ArRamadi on Dino
That SC was so freakin loud!! You almost wanted to cover your ears!!.....almost

Alright I went to Vegas and got a dyno tune from ProStreet Performance. They’re a new shop and will drop everything to help a customer. They mainly deal with imports...CLEAN imports. They said they will beat most prices...just gotta ask.

I went with a couple of friends on the Friday to go to Midnight Madness at the local speedway. Unfortunately, it was raining soooo damn bad the race got canceled. We drove around for a while then finally hit the slots…of course I didn’t win enough money to get my meth-inj . JK…lost a dollar (that’s all I bet) I don’t like gambling.

Anyways the next day we went to ProStreet Performance to get a quick dyno to see where we’re at. Sue has never dyno-tuned a Cobalt SS S/C and didn’t even have or know about HP Tuners. Luckily I had mine with me and he used that. He said he likes it better than his software and will most likely invest in it. He ended up cutting me a deal because he didn’t have any software to edit.

Well 5 hours, 34 pulls, and $200 later we decided to call it quits. My AFR was fixed….I AM SOOOO GLAD I DIDN’T BLOW THIS THING. I was at 15.5:1 and now at 13:1. And after I remove this cat and put the QTP Cutout in I should be at 12.5:1.

So for all you peeps in Vegas lets get together sometime next month and go and he’ll cut us a deal. I have HP Tuners with credits for all 06 Cobalt SS SC’s. If we need additional credits we’ll adjust accordingly.

Now for the pics and Video's:

here is the difference in the tunes:

YEA I KNOW MY CLUTCH IS GOING!

Wow that blower is just SCREAMING!!! It sounds almost like a whistle at the end! That would explain why I can only hear my blower whine over my exhaust (really loud) above 6000 rpm!

I've e-mailed and called INTENSE tons of times.....we can't figure anything out. Tried tons of things but nothing worked. Still only see 17 psi with a 2.5"

Clutch: Gone! You can see where my clutch was slipping durring the dino. I'll buy a SPEC Stage 3+ w/flywheel at the end of the week. If you know someone PM me.

Tuner: Guy seemed like he knew what he was doing. Lost some TQ but my AFR was fixed. I wish I had the original dino with my AFR...it was all over the place and really lean.

What exhaust do you have? Is the boost bypass disable by HPT?

**** you should keep it at 11.4 with no other supporting mods (upgraded h/e or meth inj for example).. multiple runs with that kinda heat generated is never good for the motor...
but I guess you know that now

Let's get this straight, your car was on a DYNO not a DINO. DINO was on the Flintstones!

Oh, I just figured out he blew the motor after reading into this more. That sucks, but if you are crazy enough to run a setup like that...

OK YA YA YA...I mean DYNO. My mistake wth the spelling. I took Japanese 101. 102, 107, and 111. I'm not perfect at english....but if you want to bust my ball so be it. I'm not sure how to read AFR. I just read it off my DYNO Sheet with my CAT on.

I'd rather inforation than put-downs. I want to build my motor ........do you have the info w/supporting experience/info to provide me with suggestions???

WOW it's hard to type when you're slammered.

I was just poking a little fun man. Sorry if I upset you. I would definitly get in touch with
06blackg85ss and bdwar06 as they are both currently building stout engines.

Talking to them all the time......I'm STILL debating weather to build it myself of bring it in for warrenty work. I have $3500 to burn...there is no machine shops around here. So machining will be the hard part. I hava a hydrolic press but it's not as big as I need. Also debating weather or not to build my heads too.

My goal is 300-350 hp/tq

easiest way to do that... get the engine off ebay (it was around $700 last time I saw) order some forged pistons (399.99-699.99) arp head studs, and cometic gaskets... go with some new valve springs and retainers... maybe a litle port work and wala... there you go (If your are gonna stay with the s/c bump up the compression to 10.0-1 or 10.5:1 so at less boost you get more power and less heat from the overspin of the blower).

I"ll probably be sticking with that myself for now and run a 3" pulley... I think I should hit those numbers reliably... but I am going a bit further than that... but those details are under wraps for now

I can't believe you did 34 dyno pulls. WOW!

At least you are trying my friend. Good luck with everything.
