New additions to my Cobalt

Just took a few pics of the recent additions to my SS. Here they are:

Ingalls ETD

Viper 791XV

And a pic of the garage I have to work in

You can see the Siren in the upper left corner of the first pic. I also had the remote start hooked up which will come in handy this winter in Iowa. Thats all that I have planned for now and probably until next Spring.

I wasn't aware that you could have a remote starter on our Cobalts with the fact that you have to push the clutch down to start the car. I saw a remote starter kit the other day, and thought about buying it, but I didn't find anything on the packaging that said it would work on a Manual vehicle. I might have to revisit that now that I know this... nice pics.

I don't think there is an actual remote start that works with manuals. You just have to be really careful not to leave it in gear. But there are ways to override the system using relays. I'm sure someone on here knows how it is done. There is someone on here that I remember saying they are a MECP certified installer for Best Buy, they would know I'm sure.

Thanks for the comments guys.

it can be rigged... the remote that is, i don't know how you'd rig the clutch thing...

if you hold the key to start, and THEN step on the pedal, the car will start... so if you had a timed relay, lets say, 10 seconds... that bypassed the switch on the clutch (works like a brake light switch i THINK)... so that when the system turned on, it would bypass, let the car start and then return to normla operation, you could do it.

wouldn't be safe, but could be done.

AFAIK that applies to automatics and keeps it from trying to start in gear.

I would never put remote start on a manual, cause i'm pretty sure I'd screw up someday and leave it in gear

Well I think it retails for around $500. I work at Best Buy so I got a good deal on it. Also had it installed at Best Buy. I would never attempt to install something like this myself due to the fact that its all wiring. I believe I paid 150 for the alarm and 150 for the install.
