i think you went a little to much on the sharpening/contrast, taz. your dog looks like he's floating on the first two pics from the PP. i do like the pics however. i wish i still had my dog so i can take pics of him. ![Sad](https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

LOL I dunno you're gonna have to ask him...
But seriously in the first two pictures he was so dark for some reason that I had to do that for him to show up. I tried everything I could think of from slow shutter speeds to shooting wide pen and he kept showing up as an all black blob so I picked the best of the bunch and did the best I could in Photoshop. My favorite pic of those four is the third one...

LOL I'll have to figure out how to do that on my camera. I'm still figuring all this stuff out. I'd like to think I'm improving thanks to all of the input from you guys! I still think the Third picture I posted is the best picture I've ever taken...

that's how we all learn and improve man. don't let it discourage you. ![Twothumbsup](https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/images/smilies/twothumbsup.gif)
i'm sure you can read on your manual book on how to do it or even online.

my guess is his noise remover is causing this. the images are at 400 ISO, which isn't high but some noise should be noticeable, but yet there isn't.
taz, care to share your usual noise settings when you filter your images and which program?

i wouldn't say that, the image composition is good and draws your eyes to the cats eye and the important parts are exposed well. Got any other images to post?

that shouldnt be a NR in camera. I've turned my NR all the way up before and gotten nothing close to that....if you use channels and surface blurring to noise reduce it VERY easy to get a very smeared effect.
