anyone done a mufflerless setup on a 2.2? i dont mean just hacking it off. im thinking of straight pipe, and a larger magnaflow resonator in place of the stock resonator, i want something different than everyone else and refuse to pay more than $300 or so for an exhaust its just dumb, ive always had good custom exhausts, pieced together $80 for a decent muffler $60 for resonator and then $150-200 for pipes if needed. These overly priced GMPP's are WHACK! that sound could easily be recreated for 1/3 the cost.

the muffler just being hacked off sounds terrible cuz i did a simple muffler swap way back when to get rid of the huge muffler that's stock. i would have done my own exhaust but i got a steal on my tsudo from a local. that and i woulda been scratching my head a bit on doing some of the bends without a bender lol

check out mandrelbentexhaust systems.. they have some pretty good stuff reasonable priced imo. if i ever bought a new catback it would b from them

i cant amagine that redoing the catback will really gain any power. i was gunna swap the muffler/resonator unless it really makes that much of a difference.

ill let the pics do the talking..

the 2.2 dp in comarison to the LSJ dp, which was a big enough upgrade for me given the really cheap price (a zzp one would be better flowing yet, but it cost like 4 times more so eff that )

then here is the 2.5" tsudo in comparison to the 2.2 dp you can see.. kinda hard to notice but you get the idea in size difference sortof

id order tsudo right now if it didnt fit so crappy, im pretty low and would definetly scrape. plus im going lower in the summer.

and it sucks because i have an auto trans so i cant use and of the SS exhaust parts correct? downpipe is longer making the catback fit different?

you cant really just free up one chunk of the exhaust and expect a huge gain. i noticed the most once i free'd everything up

05-10 CHEVY COBALT EXHAUST - BOLT ON - (304 STAINLESS - 2.5 IN)
